Attorneys, judges, and other employees had the grim discovery this morning while they were working at the Van Nuys Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).

The Van Nuys Police Department confirmed that a 70-year-old unidentified male jumped to his death off a Van Nuys building on Monday, August 15, 2016. The building, which is home to the WCAB, is adjacent to the criminal court house.

Earlier reports suggested that an attorney was the person who committed suicide but further investigation revealed that the person actually walked over from the criminal courthouse, Van Nuys Courthouse West. 

Per the officer, who remained anonymous, the investigation is on-going. Further details will be released when the investigation is complete.
