DWC Posts Adjustments to Official Medical Fee Schedule (DMEPOS and Physician Services/Non-Physician Practitioner Services) By Press Release - April 7, 2014
The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted orders adjusting the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1.
The Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) update includes all changes identified in Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Change Request (CR) number 8645. This Order adopts the first Medicare quarterly DMEPOS update for calendar year 2014.
The Physician and Non-Physician Practitioner Fee Schedule update Order adopts the following changes:
Medically Unlikely Edits April 1, 2014 quarterly update
Maximum fees for Splints and Casts billed by physicians and non-physician practitioners governed by the DMEPOS fee schedule, rather than by CMS Transmittal 2837
The orders adopting the OMFS adjustments are effective for services rendered on or after April 1, 2014 and can be found on the DWC website.
