| | Three Owners Of Aspen Medical Resources In Anaheim Had Bail Set At A Million And A Half Dollars By Lonce LaMon - November 11, 2013
The owners of Aspen Medical Resources , based in Anaheim, California, were indicted on October 29th, 2013 by the Orange County District Attorney’s office. Three of the owners were charged with 49 felony counts of insurance fraud. Those owners are Abraham Khorshad, Landen Alan Mirallegro, and Jeffrey Campau. Their bail was set at $1,500,000 each. But owner Ryan McCraken was charged with one felony count with his bail set at $20,000.
These four owners were indicted because of egregious overbilling for durable medical equipment, especially a hot/cold therapy machine, to workers’ compensation claims departments.
Judge Lance Jenson, in Court Room C-5, of the Orange County Superior Court, on October 29th found that all of the grand jurors voting for the return of the indictment heard all of the evidence and at least 12 voted in favor of the indictment.
The Orange County District Attorney’s office filed motions to seize properties of the defendants and to freeze their bank accounts.
Ex Parte Temporary Restraining Orders and Petitions for Orders to Show Cause to Preserve Property or Assets Subject to Levy or Seizure were filed by the defendants to stop the seizure of their assets and to prevent the freezing of their bank accounts.

Also, for Ryan McCracken, a Declaration in Support of Hold on Release of Defendant on Basis of Feloniously Obtained Bail was filed by the DA. Hold was then released, bail of $20,000 was deemed sufficient and continued, and McCracken's Passport was received by the District Attorney.
On November 7th, Thursday, Ryan McCracken was then a no-show for his own hearing on his Restraining Order to prevent the seizure of his assets and the freezing of his bank accounts.
The indictment was sealed up until November 1st 2013, at which time it was unsealed by the court. Access to the now unsealed Indictment should be available by Thanksgiving. A Press Release by the District Attorney is expected by the end of November and at around the same time the Indictment is publicly made available.
