Kelly Soo Park To Appear In Court With New Defense Counsels Tomorrow Morning In Downtown L.A. By Lonce LaMon - June 10, 2012
Tomorrow morning, criminal pre-trial proceedings will take place once again in Downtown Los Angeles for accused murderer Kelly Soo Park. Park is accused of the murder of aspiring actress and model Juliana Redding, who was found dead in her Santa Monica, California apartment on March 16th 2008.
At the last proceeding on April 16th, Kelly Soo Park changed lawyers once again and hired the law firm of Buehler & Kassabian of Pasadena. George Buehler did not answer an email or a voice mail from this writer, and her former defense lawyer, Stephen Bernard, replied by email only to state that he could not make any statement.
So, it can only be speculated that Park is desperate to delay her case to trial as long as possible and that the appeal for hiring Buehler & Kassabian is a combination of their combined experiences in representing and defending individuals under government investigation plus defending medical providers accused of insurance fraud.
Kelly Soo Park is believed by prosecutors to be the “hit-woman” who was hired by Lebanese spinal-surgeon, Munir Uwaydah, to kill Juliana Redding, one of his ex-girlfriends. Juliana’s father, Gregory Redding, is a pharmacist who backed out of a business deal with Dr. Munir Uwaydah and refused to do business with him just several days before 21-year-old Juliana was found murdered.
A few months ago, Patricia Redding, Juliana’s mother, stood up in court next to her husband, Gregory Redding, and gave an impassioned, dignified speech beseeching the court to move this case to trial.
Kelly Soo Park is believed to have been heavily involved in Dr. Uwaydah’s workers’ compensation fraud process and to have been his right-hand in defrauding the California workers’ compensation system out of possibly anywhere between $200 million to $400 million. The investigation into Uwaydah’s and Park’s workers’ comp fraud game is still on-going.

In this video footage, below, from the morning of April 16th 2012, when the last pretrial hearing for Kelly Soo Park took place in the Downtown Los Angeles Criminal Court just prior to the hearing which will happen tomorrow morning, Park’s bail bondsman Josh Herman, nicknamed “the middle-linebacker”, Alena Klimianok, and Stephen Bernard, are seen leaving the courthouse and ascending the stairs. Herman is on the far right of the picture with Klimianok in the center and Bernard on the left. Klimianok and Bernard were fired as Kelly Soo Park’s defense counsels this day as Park hired the law firm of Buehler and Kassabian.
At the top of the stairs, Herman, Klimianok, and Bernard turn and walk up the sidewalk to North Broadway amidst the cacophony of honking horns and car alarms.
Prior to April 16th, Kelly Soo Park and Alena Klimianok were seen leaving the courthouse after hearings arm-in-arm, but not on this day.
Next, George Buehler is seen at the exit of the courthouse building talking to Kelly Soo Park and then walking up the stairs with her. She hugs him good-bye when she gets to the top of the flight and then she moves to hug Mark Kassabian farewell. Both Mark Kassabian and George Buehler shake hands with Kelly Soo’s friends and family. Then, the two law partners say good-bye to one another as Kassabian heads toward North Broadway and Buehler turns towards the camera and Spring Street.
Tomorrow morning, Monday, June 11th at 8:30 am, pretrial proceedings will resume in Department 109, the court room of the Honorable Kathleen Kennedy, at Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center at 210 E. Temple Street in Downtown Los Angeles. Something should be told then, hopefully, in the court room, about when this case is going to get to trial.
