| | Tristar Insurance Group Bought Keenan's Innovative Care Systems On January 1st Says Tristar's President Tom Veale By Lonce LaMon - February 24, 2012
On January 1, 2012, Tom Veale, the President and CEO of Tristar Insurance Group, aka Tristar Risk Management, purchased a service company from Keenan & Associates called Innovative Care Systems or ICS.
Innovative Care Systems specializes in short term disability, voluntary disability, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Now, the ICS office is in Tristar’s corporate office location in downtown Long Beach at 100 Oceangate. It was located in the Keenan & Associates’ Torrance office before January 1st.
Tom Veale has become good friends over many years with the Chairman of the Board of Keenan & Associates, John Keenan, who is now about 81 years old and still very active in the Keenan organization as Chairman. He plays tennis regularly although he says, “I’m not very good.”
The friendship with John Keenan is the reason Tom Veale says he made this appropriate acquisition. “I think that (the friendship) is what made the deal for us. We’ve become personal friends over the years and it was good for both organizations. He’s a great guy.”
When asked by this writer if there was any further scoop or scandals that have happened with Tristar recently or are going on presently, Tom Veale replied, “No. But the provider scandals are just daily. It’s amazing how many problems we’re fighting in our data.”
