Libery Mutual has appointed Deborah L. Michel Executive Vice-President of Commercial Markets, General Manager of Major Accounts, and the President of Helmsman Management Services, Liberty's third party administrator.
In her new role, Deborah leads Liberty's sales and service organization targeting the largest commerical insurance customers--who have total annual cost of risk of $20 million or more-- and Helmsman Management Services, a TPA offering integrated claims, managed care, and loss control services. Liberty's Commercial Markets strategic business unit distributes its products exclusively through brokers and agents.
Mark Butler, Liberty Mutual's President of Distribution and Service Management of Commercial Markets, said, "Debbie has the right blend of strategic and executional skills to further our success with the largest commercial insurance buyers. These sophisticated buyers and the brokers who serve them want tailored programs that help better manage the total cost of risk."
Prior to her new position, Deborah Michel was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Commerical Markets' Midwest Division, where she oversaw a sales and service operation targeting large and mid-sized companies throughout the region. She also held a number of senior leadership positions in sales, account management, finance, and claims.
