| | Cynthia McShan, Veteran Multiline Claims Adjuster, Passed Away Monday. She Was Working In Workers' Compensation Claims At Tristar In Alhambra, CA By Lonce LaMon - December 21, 2011
Cynthia McShan was employed as a senior workers’ compensation claims adjuster at Tristar Risk Management in Alhambra, California, when she passed away on Monday, December 19th. Ostensibly, she left work early on Monday because she wasn’t feeling well. She apparently later died of a heart attack.
Cynthia had an extensive multi-line background. She started at Allianz Insurance Company in 1979, and worked in both the Los Angeles and Woodland Hills offices handling property and casualty claims, reinsurance and excess liability claims, and commercial and personal auto.
In 1983 she worked for Workman’s Auto Insurance Company in Los Angeles handling personal and commercial auto claims and subrogation.
Then, in 1985 she worked for National American in Rancho Dominguez, California, handling property and casualty claims, auto B.I. and property damage, and also homeowners claims.
In 1986 she worked for the California Insurance Guarantee Association handling auto, general liability, and products liability.
Then for the next two years she supervised the Commercial Insurance Unit at Fireman’s Fund in Los Angeles.
Cynthia continued to work extensively in property & casualty claims and auto liability until well into the 1990s while doing temporary assignments for mostly insurance carriers. Then, she eventually started handling workers’ compensation claims.
She handled workers’ compensation claims along with general liability, auto, homeowners and reinsurance while working for Transit Casualty Company which was in receivership for five years from 1997 to 2002. Then, she worked as a temporary adjuster for a few years handling numerous types of multi-line claims she well knew how to handle.
She finally wound up handling all workers’ comp claims sometime around 2004 at ESIS in Woodland Hills.
Cynthia McShan lived in Van Nuys, California.
