Prometheus The Trickster, aka Munir Uwaydah, M.D., Bamboozles The Los Angeles Superior Court Into A Fraudulent Six Million Dollar Judgment Against A Beirut Businessman. Part III

Part II:  http://www.adjustercom.com/modules.php?mop=modload&name=News&func=article_view&adj_article_id=1508

Munir Uwaydah, M.D., as the owner of Prometheus Health Imaging, Inc., a corporation set-up around 2001 to provide computer tomography (CT) scans to patients without a doctor’s prescription, conned Lebanese businessman Khaled Ghandour out of $300,000 and subsequently got a 6 million dollar fraudulent judgment in 2009 against him from the Los Angeles Superior Court in Santa Monica.

Uwaydah today is also the majority owner in Frontline Medical Associates and is under extensive investigation for workers’ compensation fraud in California.  He is also suspected of being the catalyst behind the 2008 murder of aspiring actress and model, Juliana Redding, in Santa Monica, California, through his right-hand-woman, Kelly Soo Park.

Kelly Soo Park leaving the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Downtown Los Angeles in April 2011.

Park’s DNA was found at the murder scene.  Uwaydah’s was not.

Uwaydah attacks individuals through law suits in the court systems who try to expose the truths about him.  He’s a hater of truth who lives behind façades and pretenses.  To fight against the veil from being lifted, litigation is his preferred weapon.  One of his favorite accusations against his opponents is libel.

Uwaydah starts out by violating people.  He steals from them, tricks them, manipulates them, abuses them. And when those violated speak up and articulate what they honestly experience as the truth, using the natural words that express their experiences, Uwaydah can’t take hearing it so he cries out libel! slander!

He denies the feelings of others.   He retaliates by calling them liars guilty of defamation.  But the truth is not defamation.  Defamation is as Webster defines “to harm the reputation of by libel or slander” while libel is “a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly (italics added) unfavorable impression, or a statement or representation published without just cause (italics added) and tending to expose another to public contempt.” The key words here are unjustly and without just cause.  When a wrong has been done, the descriptive words that articulate it cannot be interpreted as expressed unjustly or without just cause.

Webster further defines slander as, “the utterance of false charges or misrepresentations which defame or damage another’s reputation.”  The key word here is false.  Thus, if the utterance of charges is true, it is the truth that stands as the bulwark against any charges of defamation, libel, or slander.

But Uwaydah puts prodigious energy and effort into squashing the truth of any accusation against him with the artillery of his lies.  He threatens those who speak the truth and seek to defend themselves.  He calls everyone who speaks the truth a liar, when in actuality, it is he who is wholesaling lies in battalions.

It’s a strange world to experience and to witness when watching Uwaydah silence people with threats of lawsuits about libel and slander.  This is his mode of terrorism.  This is how he seeks to silence everyone who works to expose him.

In his fraudulent civil law suit against Lebanese businessman, Khaled Ghandour, in 2008, Uwaydah files a third cause of action for malicious prosecution, and a fourth cause of action for libel.   In those actions, Uwaydah defends himself against Ghandour’s law suits against him in Lebanon, by accusing Ghandour of intending to obtain judgments through extortion in another jurisdiction.  He complains that since the lawsuit was published and could be read by the public—being that it’s a public record—that they were libelous because they alleged Uwaydah had “acted illegally and was a criminal”.  Uwaydah further propounds that Ghandour should have realized with “ordinary and reasonable care” that the written statements in the law suit were “false and grossly libelous”.

But they were not “false and grossly libelous”.  Uwaydah did act illegally and is a criminal.  He tries to deny his criminal actions persistently and assiduously through lies and denial, and by turning around and accusing the complaining party of being a liar.  It’s again, total projection.  He accuses the maligned party of exactly his own actions.

All the lawsuits filed by Uwaydah for libel, including the one filed against this writer in July of 2010, contain essentially the same language with mere cosmetic variations.

In the 2008 Santa Monica complaint against Khaled Ghandour, some of the language reads:

Plaintiff (Uwaydah) as the proximate result of the above described publications has suffered loss of his reputation, shame, mortification, and hurt feelings all to his general damage in a sum to be proven at time of trial.

Defendant held a reckless disregard for the truth and thus Plaintiff Uwaydah seeks an award of exemplary and punitive damages in a sum to be proven at time of trial.

In the complaint against me, the language is essentially the same:

As a proximate result of the above-described publication by defendant, plaintiff has suffered loss of reputation, shame, mortification and hurt feelings, all to plaintiff’s general damage.

Defendant published the articles, either knowing that these statements were false or with reckless disregard for whether they were true.  As a direct and proximate result of defendants’ conduct, plaintiff has suffered general damages in an amount to be determined by proof at trial.

Uwaydah’s fight against the truth being known to the world is desperate.   In his cease and desist letters to this writer, his voice is that of a consummate narcissist who thinks it’s all about him.

It is apparent that the entire purpose of the article, openly written by a defense representative, is to disparage and defame Dr. Uwaydah and to destroy his practice.

It is also obvious that the article was written in bad faith and solely to harm Dr. Uwaydah.

It doesn’t occur to Uwaydah and his lawyer that my purpose in publishing the article referred to had nothing to do with any desire to destroy, disparage, or harm Uwaydah.  To the contrary: it had everything to do with the harm and destruction Uwaydah levies upon others and my desire to warn and protect people by giving them the “heads-up”.

Munir Uwaydah, M.D., circa 2007

My purpose behind that article and all articles has all to do with a desire to inform the public and the professionals involved in handling and providing services in workers’ compensation claims in California that Uwaydah’s actions are exploitive and unethical.  This writer's design in publishing is to offer the facts and the truth to professionals who by not knowing these facts, could and would be victimized.

But to Uwaydah, being a narcissist, it’s all about him—he has no interests in the welfare, the interests, or the protection of others.  It’s all about the problem of others “damaging” his con-game.

In late June of 2010, right on the wake of the arrest of Kelly Soo Park for the murder of Juliana Redding in 2008, Munir Uwaydah fled the United States ostensibly through Mexico.   But, according to sources, he did not go straight from Mexico to Beirut, Lebanon, where he is believed to be living at this time.  He flew to Korea, and waited there for some period of time because Lebanon would not allow him back in the country.

A confidential informant states there were judgments from the Beirut courts against Uwaydah, and an injunction had been filed banning Uwaydah from crossing into Lebanese territory until all judgments were paid in full.  I can imagine, as it has been implied, that the judgments were in favor of Khaled Ghandour.

Khaled Ghandour ostensibly won in the end.  Lebanon demanded that Uwaydah pay up.  So Uwaydah had no choice.  He had to pay the piper or he was forever banished from Lebanon, the best place he could hide from the U.S.A.

So, he paid and got back into Lebanon some time around the Summer of 2010.  Those Arabs got Uwaydah’s number.  But in contrast, will there ever be a pay-up for the workers’ compensation system in California?  Will all the insurance carriers and self-insured employers ever get any recompense on what possibly adds up to hundreds of millions of dollars in losses to Uwaydah’s scams?

Obviously, there will never be any happy ending for Juliana Redding.  Ever. What she lost is irretrievable.  For Ghandour, some part of his losses, except for his time and his aggravations, was retrievable.  And for the California workers’ compensation system, there is some possibility of recovery.

How can California get Lebanon to extradite Uwaydah back to face the accusations and the questions?  For starters, law enforcement needs to keep on moving and act now.  With no formal charges, there’s not even a hope.
