| | Tristar-LA County Work Comp Embezzlement Case Trailed To October 25th. Sandra Orosco's Bail Lowered to $200,000. By Lonce LaMon - October 12, 2010The Los Angeles County - Tristar embezzlement case involving six family members who embezzled 1.5 million dollars out of the Santa Ana workers' compensation claims department of Tristar's L.A. County account, was heard last Friday in the Downtown L.A. Court House at 210 W. Temple Street.
Nothing significant happened--only the bail of defendant Sandra Orosco Aguilar was lowered from $969,000 to $200,000, and the case was trailed to October 25th, Monday, at 9 am in Division 50.
Presently, the three male defendants, Javier Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, and Hugo Ramirez have their bails set at 1.5 million dollars each. Javier Ramirez is the father of Christian and Hugo Ramirez. He worked as a clerk in the Santa Ana Tristar claims office who was able to release payments authorized by his two sons, who were entry level workers' compensation claims adjusters.
The other two women defendants, Maria Ochoa and Dominique Boudreaux, the wife of Javier Ramirez and the mother of Christian and Hugo, and the wife of one of the sons, respectively, had their bails remain at $321,000 and $187,000 respectively, the exact amounts they had been lowered to at the arraignment on October 4th.
This case is being prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Samer Hathout. The owner of Tristar Risk Management, Tom Veale, was not available today to make his statement to the public about this case. He did not answer his phones.
Veale is preparing to make a statement about this incident of embezzlement out of his company after he has the opportunity to consult with the Risk Manager of the L.A. County account, Steve Nyblom. Nyblom was away from his office last week and was unavailable to consult with Veale.
