This year’s conference will deliver in a big way for those working in the trenches – and for a price that cannot be beat. You will hear the latest from DWC’s Destie Overpeck before launching into programs designed to highlight the latest issues facing today’s claims personnel.
The program features a lively moderated discussion on Return-to-Work issues from key industry representatives such as the oft quoted Mark Webb of Employer’s Direct, ADA/FEHA legal expert Patricia Eyres of Stuart Baron & Associates, Claims Supervisor Marcia Whiting of the School Insurance Authority, Dr. Peter Yip, Occupational Medicine Physician at Kaiser and former CAAA President Marc Marcus. This panel will be moderated by Peggy Sugarman of Grancell, Lebovitz, Stander, Reubens and Thomas and will include strategies for the claims person when dealing with these complex issues.
The afternoon will feature the impact of Almaraz/Guzman I & II and Ogilvie on Apportionment from the highly applauded legal expert Don Barthel, followed by a case law update by Stewart Reubens and Ted Richards, also of Grancell, Lebovitz, Stander, Reubens and Thomas.
The program will conclude with keynote speaker Michael Nolan, President of the California Workers’ Compensation Research Institute, who will show you how key claims concerns regarding medical issues have prompted the additional research to identify trends and potential strategies for dealing with them.
All this in a collegial environment that combines networking, education and fun! Continuing education credits are offered.
