| | Interstate Brands No Longer To Be Self-Administered In California For Work Comp Claims As Of July 31st. Claims Being Shipped To Broadspire In Rancho Cordova, California By Lonce LaMon - July 11, 2009Rancho Cordova, California, seems to be the now happening place for claims administration.
What is that city now doing to attract so much business? Giving away a year's free rent?
Well, something's making the place popular for claims administration, because just weeks after Xchanging, the London based company that purchased Cambridge Integrated Services Group closed the Cambridge San Diego and Pasadena offices and moved their entire claims operation to Rancho Cordova, California, expanding it to almost triple its former size, Broadspire in Rancho Cordova is now taking up all the San Diego Interstate Brands workers' comp claims and will be handling them out of their location in Rancho Cordova.
"I just want to work," Bobbie Sullivan, the Claims Supervisor of the Interstate Brands San Diego claims office said yesterday, July 10th, as she lamented about the depressed job market in the San Diego area and accepted the reality that she will be laid off on July 31st. "I thought I was going to retire here."
Bobbie wants to find a new job and expresses that for her it's not all about the money.
"I love to type and I love doing data entry." So, she's serious that she doesn't have to be a claims supervisor right away. Just give me a job, is her attitude. So, there's no ego problem with Bobbie.
Sally Castanon, who has been a very long term temporary examiner at Interstate Brands for about 5 years perhaps, will now be out and about looking for a new opportunity, along with Lena Nanos, another very long term temporary workers' comp examiner who has been on assignment with Interstate Brands for a long time.
The Indemnity files will be transferred to Broadspire during the week of July 20th, and then the rest of the claims will go the week of July 27th.
Interstate Brands has been self-insured, self-administered in California for workers' compensation claims for well over a decade. The office has been located during that time at 7807 Convoy Court in San Diego 92111.
