Tristar Long Beach Fire Destructive And Far Reaching By Lonce LaMon - May 4, 2009
The fire that destroyed the Tristar Risk Management office at 2835 Temple Avenue in Long Beach-Signal Hill, California, last Wednesday, April 29th, has affected communications and systems at the other Tristar offices even until today, Monday May 4th.
In the Tristar Alhambra office email and Internet are working sporatically and the phone system cannot receive incoming calls. If one calls the main number a synthesized voice repeats over and over, "Wait while I transfer your call..." But, no incoming call gets transferred. The computerized voice just goes on repeating itself.
No one knows, as yet, what caused the fire in Long Beach. It is still being investigated. According to workers' compensation claims adjuster Christina Puga, who works in the Alhambra office, a control room was salvaged and some portion of files were saved.
