"We're drawing from farther and wider, all the way to the East Coast," notes Dan Price of Pacific Claims Service Inc., San Diego, general chairman of the 2001 convention. "There are many attendees from insurance claims companies, third-party administrators (TPAs), vice presidents all the way down to the rank and file, and more and more governmental officials.
"The convention presents a forum where exhibitors can display their wares in a common opportunity to mesh with each other and exchange information," Price explains.
Among exhibitors will be business representatives of Workers' Comp, Property, SIU, Liability, Self-insured, branch managers/claim supervisors, risk managers, investigators, claim adjusters and legal.
New for the 2001 confab "is our plan to devote monies annually to a chosen charity we feel meets high standards for delivering quality services with a minimum of expense. We are specifically targeting a variety of charities affiliated with the insurance industry."
The discount conference rate is $45 per day or $80 for both days.
The convention committee will place special emphasis on the following: expanded break time for attendees to explore the exhibit hall; expanding the number of attendees; continuing the development of an educational program that appeals to the diverse industry interests of the attendees; and continuing the second year of a golf event and inaugurating a tennis tournament at the resort hotel.
Committee members for the 13th annual CCC convention, in addition to Price, are Allen Halverson, program chairman, Automobile Club of Southern California; Sid Parsley, publicity chairman; William H.
