Attorney George Woolverton’s new firm name really is Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey. It’s not Woolverton Wolsey and Woolverton.
By Lonce Lamonte - October 20, 2025

George Woolverton, a veteran workers' compensation defense attorney who specializes in claims defense, labor law and 132a, liability defense, and other related legal work, just started a new law firm on October 1st 2025.

Now this writer has found out that it really is Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey, and George Woolverton did not change his mind on the arrangement of the names in the firm name. My first reporting of Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey was correct. I had read later the new name with the Wolsey in the middle on a development site. Then I reported it as a change. Mistake! I shouldn’t have done that.

So, the opening announcement that read Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey was correct.

Everything is coming along. "There are a lot of moving parts," George said just several days ago.

It was almost exactly two months ago that a People column about George Woolverton was just written and published by adjustercom. That was in mid-August, and now it's mid-October. And a lot's been going on in these two months.

George went to Croatia. He showed pictures on his Facebook page of varieties of fresh fish displayed in a marketplace. The coast of Croatia is on the eastern seaboard of the Mediterranean Sea. That's quite a jaunt to go half way across the world. And then to start a new law firm at the same time. How wonderful we have electronic communication; and that we have jet planes in which we can sit comfortably while we work.

George Woolverton’s former firm existed for decades. Its last form was Stockwell Harris Woolverton & Fox. The last name-partner changed a few times in recent years. It was Muehl, then Helphrey, and then Fox within the past decade. Eugene Stockwell was the big legacy name for over 60 years; then Steve Harris was the next name partner for about three decades, and then George Woolverton just reached his thirty-year mark. Then came Jaime Fox in 2022.

Now the legacy has ended. Times change. Eugene Stockwell was in the legacy firm name in a few forms. It was Kendig Stockwell & Gleason back in the early 1970s. Then as he became the last remaining legacy partner, the firm became universally known by its nickname "The Stockwell Firm". When anyone said The Stockwell Firm, everybody knew who that was.

Now, no more. The Stockwell Firm is saying good-bye. Soon its website will come down. Soon Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey will grow out of development into a full site of numerous pages on the web.

The other Woolverton together with George is his son Matthew Woolverton, who was with the Stockwell Firm for about 15 years. Wolsey is Paul Wolsey who was educated at the University of California at Berkeley and managed The Stockwell Firm's Orange office.

George Woolverton is an active sportsman and traveler. He goes skiing at Mammoth, sails his boat off the coast of Marina del Rey, and goes to Fiji to scuba dive. He just recently, as previously mentioned, went to Croatia.

His wife, Katrina Woolverton, is a spectacular singer. I wrote to her by email recently telling her she sings better than Taylor Swift. And I'm serious! She hasn't answered me yet, so maybe I have her old Gmail account that she doesn't check that often. So, I'll have to be brought up to date.

She has performed various times at the Mint in Los Angeles and also at Vitello's in Culver City. She has had five top 40 songs on the charts. She toured with Meat Loaf for a year, with Blues Traveler, the Goo Goo Dolls, and the Revivalists.

Back to George, he also surfs!

Click this link to George's August 18th 2025 People story when he was celebrating 30-years with the Stockwell Firm. Now he has a new firm and all within two months. Careers like life can change fast.

NB: This article has been rewritten from the article dated October 16th 2025 to a substantially edited version dated today, October 20th 2025. This writer had written that the new firm name changed to Woolverton Wolsey and Woolverton, which was wrong. The new firm name is exactly what was stated when the announcement first came out: It is Woolverton Woolverton and Wolsey.
