| | Rosanne Cloney Now Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor At Patriot National In Woodland Hills, California

Rosanne Cloney just started last month as the Claims Supervisor of Patriot National’s workers’ compensation claims department in Woodland Hills, California.
She was hired by Michael McFadden, who was just promoted in late January 2013 to Regional Vice President of Patriot National for the California region. Michael is a 25-year veteran of Zenith Insurance Company who worked for that company from 1986 to 2011 before joining Patriot in 2011 as their Vice President of Operations.
Rosanne Cloney also worked for Zenith from 2002 until about 2009 where she started as an examiner and then was promoted to Supervisor for Zenith’s Glendale office in 2005. Zenith then went through some major changes which involved lay-offs, downsizing, and executive changes during these later years of the first decade of the 21st Century.
Rosanne started in claims at Nationwide Insurance in 1990 as a supervisor who ran the clerical support team. She had about 25 clerical support professionals. “We did auto and work comp. We did the filing, the new set-ups--pretty much everything that they needed. We copied records. I ran a typical file room and support staff,” Rosanne explained.
In 1992 she went to work as a claims assistant in the workers’ compensation claims department for Unicare Insurance Company in Pasadena. After a year and a half, she went to a training program and got promoted to examiner. She worked for 2 years as an examiner until Unicare sold out to Blue Cross. Then she went to work for a private investigative company for 4 years called Safety Investigative Services. (SIS). She grew that company tremendously until she felt the desire to get back into claims.
Thus, she went to Travelers Insurance, handled claims there, and then handled claims at Kemper. But by 2002 she was at The Zenith handling claims and by 2005 she was promoted to supervisor.
The Zenith changes played a part in Rosanne’s path to take a work comp adjuster position at ESIS in Chatsworth, California in January of 2010. Then, just last month she took this claims supervisor position that opened up at Patriot in Woodland Hills. “My desire has always been to become a supervisor again, and when this opportunity came up I couldn’t hold back.”
When this writer suggested that it seems Patriot is really booming, Rosanne said, “That we are.”
