Shielah Doornik Goes To Work For Athens Administrators; Tracy Pierce Now City Of Burbank Administrator

Shielah Doornik is now a senior claims examiner handling workers' comp claims at Athens Administrators in Irvine, California.  The Irvine office of Athens is a fairly new office which was opened earlier this year for the growing administrator .

Shielah has an extensive background and career of handling workers' compensation claims dating back to the late 1980s when she started her career with Republic Indemnity in San Francisco.  She also worked for Gates McDonald, a third-party-administrator, in Oakland from about 1989 to 1991, up until she moved to Southern California and worked for California Indemnity, National American, and Associated Claims Services.  By 1996 she went even further south to San Diego and worked for Golden Eagle, back in the good old days before they were bought by Liberty Mutual. 

By 1998 she went to FIRM Solutions in Orange and worked on the LAPD account until Firm Solutions lost that account.  Then she worked for CNA/RSKCO on a number of large accounts such as Pepsi, Universal Studios, and Xerox. 

In 2003 Shielah worked for over five years for Gallagher Bassett in their Aliso Viejo branch.  She handled Continental Airlines for a few years, but then also handled Yum Brands (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, Long John Silver, A&W) and also UPS (the United Parcel Services account).  By 2009, she was working at Sedgwick CMS in Orange, up until last month in October 2010, when she joined Athens Administrators.

Sheilah has a Masters' Degree in Forensic Science and a B.A. in business.  She loves to travel, go to the beach, and adores gourmet wines and foods.  

Tracy Pierce is now the Administrator for the City of Burbank.  She will officially hold that title starting on December 1st 2010, but is now already working and acting in that capacity.

Tracy started as a temporary workers' compensation claims adjuster at the City of Burbank back in the early Spring of this year.  She became a regular employee by the end of the Summer, and was hired under the title of Claims Coordinator.  Now, as the Administrator she has been promoted up from Claims Coordinator.  She works for Director Judie Wilke.
