| | Latest News In Brief From Northern Nevada By Associated Press - December 19, 2005RENO, Nev. (AP) _ One of the nation's leading distributors of seasonal apparel is relocating its regional distribution center from Southern California to the Reno area.
Rivers' End Trading Co. based in Hopkins, Minn., has signed an agreement for a 100,000-square-foot facility about 10 miles east of Reno. The center will serve 11 states in the West.
"This area offered us the whole package," said Dan Overland, vice president of operations for Rivers' End. "Reno is centrally located for distribution in the West, the business community was very welcoming to us and there is a really nice quality of life out here."
The facility will be located in DP Partners' LogistiCenter in Storey County. DP Partners is a leading developer of industrial warehouse properties.
Zak Gilbert, business development manager for the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, said the catalogue distributor considered various states for the center.
"The company was looking to escape the high workers' compensation rates in California and improve its bottom line, which it can do in Storey County," Gilbert said. |
