Twin Towers for Twin Claims By Robert Warne - June 24, 2003
A woman who went shopping for a claim has been rewarded for her efforts with a discounted six-month vacation in the Los Angeles County Twin Towers correctional facility.
This past March, Gwendolyn Henson of Montclair claimed she slipped and fell in a grocery store because of liquid on the flood. She reported the incident to a store manager and was then compensated a $100.
She then took her act to another grocery venue. Later, after video from both stores was examined investigators were impressed with how well she played her part and didn’t drop any lines in both performances.
On the tape Henson could be seen pouring liquid detergent on the floor, walking through it and then reporting the incident as if she’d just taken a traumatic dive on aisle 10.
Henson pled guilty for her phony acts and aside from serving six months in the county jail; she was put on formal probation for three years and will have to pay back $1,650.
