There will be a change of venue from the local bar to behind the bars for a San Bernardino county go-go dancer recently charged with committing workers’ compensation fraud.
The ex-emergency medical technician (EMT) landed the new gig after it was discovered she had been collecting workers’ compensation checks for four years while at the same time showcasing her provocative agility.
The dancer started receiving workers’ compensation benefits after she claimed she injured her back lifting a patient as an EMT.
Her career move may be tough at first since she was used to performing at the same bar her boyfriend’s band would play at.
But eventually all the attention she’s received now that her first video—shot while under surveillance— is out, will wane, and she’ll soon realize she’s got bigger things to worry about.
This story was used April 25 at a Victorville town hall meeting to illustrate how out of control workers’ compensation fraud is in the county.
And not making things any easier according the San Bernardino County Sun is a recent Research Institute of America poll that said 78 percent of Americans think it is acceptable to defraud the workers' compensation system.
