Gab Robins connected on a fastball up the center from American Specialty this week, and nailed a grand slam deal to administer all Major League Baseball (MLB) workers’ compensation claims.

The agreement announced Feb 24 will put Gab Robins adjusters down on the field for the 30 MLB teams and nearly 200 minor league affiliates.

Indiana-based American Specialty is an independent organization engaged exclusively in sports and entertainment risk services.

It is expected that with the combination of American Specialty’s unique service approach and GAB Robins’ technology, an injured player’s return to the lineup would be hastened and associated costs of a treating injuries and time spent off the diamond would be minimized.

Joseph Zubretsky, president and CEO of the GAB Robins said this is an important win for the company and plays into the TPA’s continued effort to expand its risk management services.

He also expressed his excitement towards the new relationship and said that the members of his organization are looking forward to the upcoming season.

Pete Eshelman, president and CEO of American Specialty proclaimed, “Major League Baseball will clearly be complemented by this new union.”

Among many of the bonuses associated with the new account, adjusters will have a unique perspective of the games from seats for which tickets cannot be purchased.
