Roger Sohn, M.D., a well-known Los Angeles orthopedist and well-liked Agreed Medical Examiner (AME) who did workers’ compensation case evaluations, died suddenly on Friday, February 23rd. It has been reported that he died in Palm Springs at a golf course. His death was sudden, unexpected, and a shock to those close to him and those who knew him.
Dr. Sohn was born on May 19th 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended Brown & Nichols high school and then Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. For medical school he was educated in California at the University of Southern California (USC).
By the 1980s he was affiliated with Century City Hospital, then later at Midway Hospital and then Cedars Sinai in Beverly Hills-West Hollywood. Most recently he had his private practice at 2080 Century Park East in Century City.
His memorial service will take place tomorrow at 2:00 pm, February 27th 2018 at Hillside Memorial Park & Mortuary, 6001 W. Centinela Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045, 310 641-0707.
Dr. Sohn is survived by his wife Francine and his three sons Joshua, Matthew, and Jonathan. He is also survived by his grandson, Benjamin.
Besides being a medical doctor and an orthopedic specialist, Dr. Roger Sohn was an accomplished magician.
“He was loved by everybody,” his son, Matthew, expressed today.
