The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) is now accepting applications for the Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) examination on October 21, 2017. QMEs are independent physicians certified by the DWC Medical Unit to conduct medical evaluations of injured workers. Applications for the QME exam may be downloaded from the DWC website.
Applicants may also contact the Medical Unit at 510-286-3700 to request an application via U.S. mail, email or fax.
The deadline for filing the exam applications is September 7, 2017.

The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted an order adjusting the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule to conform to the third quarter 2017 changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1.
The order effective for services rendered on or after July 1, 2017 adopts the Medicare DMEPOS Quarter 3, 2017, DME17-C ZIP file.
The 2017 Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Fee Schedule File from DME17-A (Updated 01/06/17) ZIP file was not updated for the third quarter, and remains in effect for services on or after July 1, 2017.
