Kenneth B. Schnoll Appointed General Counsel For The California Department Of Insurance By Lonce LaMon with the News Release of the CA Department of Insurance - May 16, 2017
Dave Jones, the California Insurance Commissioner, today announced the appointment of Kenneth B. Schnoll as General Counsel for the California Department of Insurance.
Ken Schnoll is leaving behind his practice as a partner at Dentons US LLP where he focused on insurance regulation and health care practices. Before Dentons he was a partner with LeBoeuf, Lamb, Green and MacRae.
In his career he has gathered extensive legal experience relevant to his new role at the Department of Insurance, including drafting legislation and appearing before legislative committees to testify and participate on both the state and federal rulemaking process.
"Given all of the regulatory and legal issues that are a part of the Department's ongoing regulation of insurance companies and insurance markets, Ken's tremendous knowledge and expertise gleaned from over 30 years' experience in the insurance industry will serve us all well," said Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones.
"I'm looking forward to joining Commissioner Jones and his team to take on the tough issues facing California's insurance market," said Ken Schnoll.
Schnoll is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the McGeorge School of Law.
The department's previous General Counsel, John Finston, recently left the Department to return to private practice.
