Stacey Golden, Champion Anti-Workers’-Compensation-Fraud Advocate, Gets Promoted To Assistant Vice President At Keenan & Associates
By Lonce LaMon - October 21, 2016

Stacey Golden has been promoted from Director of Claims to Assistant Vice President at Keenan & Associates based in the Torrance, California, Keenan office.

Stacey began working for Keenan in 2002 as a senior examiner and has made her way up the ladder through Supervisor, Technical Manager, Director of Claims, and now to Assistant Vice President. She has been on the Corporate Claims Team for the past 10 years. She has excelled in the management of the Claims Team litigation cost containment program, Special Investigation Unit (SIU) program, quality assurance, operations, external/state audits, EDM, and training. Previously, she was a senior claims examiner at Royal and SunAlliance from 1999 to 2002.

Through her leadership and with the inspiration of Judge David O’Brien, who has long promoted the Explanation of Benefits form (EOB) to fight provider fraud by “keeping the injured worker in the loop”, Stacey has led the claims department to outstanding subrogation results along with the implementation of a Register of Benefits/EOB to deter provider fraud within the industry.  Keenan was the first TPA to implement a transparency tool of this kind.

“Stacey continues to be looked at for providing expertise and strategic thinking for best claims outcomes,” wrote Tracy Gold, Vice President for TPA Operations for Keenan & Associates.  “Stacey’s role will be expanding this year as the legislative landscape develops and we look to further enhance our programs. Please join me in congratulating Stacey on a well-deserved promotion.”

Stacey Golden has been acknowledged once again this year by the Employers’ Fraud Task Force (EFTF), led by Executive Director Laura Clifford, this time with the 2016 Annual Service Award.  The EFTF has previously bestowed Stacey with the “Best in the Industry” award when it comes to identifying fraud cases as a “Fraud Fighter of the Year”.

Laura Clifford states, “Stacey Golden is a champion when it comes to fighting workers’ comp fraud. It is a privilege to have Stacey serve on the EFTF Advisory Board.”

Stacey effuses that she has two beautiful adult offspring presently attending college. Her son, Kameron, is a second-year law student at the University of San Francisco. Her daughter, Kourtney, is in her third year at Cal State Northridge.  Stacey herself attended Cal State Los Angeles, has a WCCP designation, her WCCA, and her state of California self-insured certificate. She resides in Inglewood, California, and has a special someone in her life.

When she’s not working, Stacey confesses she loves going to the movies, to concerts, and hanging out with her girlfriends who are all work comp industry people.
