Ronald House, Retired Veteran Claims Manager, Dies On November 3rd 2015
By Lonce LaMon - November 23, 2015

Ronald House, a veteran workers’ compensation claims professional of Southern California, died on November 3rd 2015.

Ron started as a claims adjuster in 1966 at Firemans’ Fund in Los Angeles.  He moved up at Firemans’ Fund to supervisor in Santa Ana, and opened the Fireman’s Fund office in Ontario.   He retired from Firemans’ Fund in 1993.

Ron then started a new career with Sedgwick CMS and opened the Sedgwick Riverside office.  He was a Sedgwick vice-president when he retired again in 2002.

Ronald Wilson House was born April 5, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  In the late 1950s, Ron’s family relocated to California, settling in Covina.  Ron was a 1961 graduate of Charter Oak High School.  He attended Mt. San Antonio College, graduating from Whittier College with a BS in History.

After retirement from Sedgwick, Ron moved to Washington State and Idaho. He loved these states, but unfortunately, health problems caused him to move back to Southern California in 2013.

Ron enjoyed Barbershop Quartet music. He was an assistant director of the Pomona Valley Chapter of Barbershop Chorus.  He was Barbershopper of the year 1969. He was a choir director at the Methodist church for 25 years.
He loved HO trains, and anything to do with trains. He enjoyed traveling on trains, cruising, and Vince’s Spaghetti.

He enjoyed anything to do with WW II, and the planes of that era. He enjoyed making model planes and ships. His favorite thing in the world was hanging out with his beloved brother Mike.

He is survived by his ex-wife Linda House. She worked for Fremont Indemnity for 10 years, Home Insurance-Risk Enterprise Management for 16 years, ending her career at Hanna and Brophy where she worked for five years.
