| | Skip Creasey Now Chief Operating Officer At York By Lonce LaMon - August 3, 2015
York Risk Services Group announced towards the end of last month their hire of E. Harry Creasey, known as “Skip”, as Chief Operating Officer of York’s Commercial Businesses section and Executive Vice President of York Risk Services Group, Inc. York is a third-party-administrator for claims management, risk management, and a provider of managed care.
The President and CEO of York’s Commercial Business client section is Rick Taketa, whose regular office is in Orange, California. Rick was long term with SCRMA (Southern California Risk Management Associates) that was headquartered in Upland, California before it was purchased by York in 2006. Rick stated in York’s recent News Release: “Skip’s extensive and multifaceted management experience will help drive York’s commitment to operational excellence and to delivering best in class claims and risk management solutions that help our clients manage their total cost of risk.”
Skip was educated at Virginia Tech in the early and mid-1970s where he played football on a full athletic scholarship. He earned a BS degree in Marketing Management.
He worked in Sales at Xerox from 1976 to 1985, was Director of Sales and Marketing for HealthAmerica from 1985 to 1986, and then joined The Travelers for eight years from 1986 to 1994. At Travelers he was Regional Vice President of Managed Care Operations.
By the 1990s, Skip Creasey was the CEO of Kelson Physician Partners. In 2001 he joined IPACQ (Interplan Health Group) where he acquired and operated PPO networks. He developed the business plan to launch an acquisition-focused health care services company. He returned to Kelson Physician Partners, then joined Coventry Health Care as Senior Vice President in 2005, and by 2010 was the President and Chief Operating Officer of StrataCare.
Interesting that StrataCare is a Xerox company, as Skip basically started his sales career at Xerox.
Skip comes to York directly from StrataCare, where he was the leader of this software services company serving the insurance industry. He developed at StrataCare a best of class software application for handling medical bill review in the Property/Casualty market.
“Skip is a strong leader with a proven track record in innovation and execution,” Rick Taketa added. “We are excited to welcome him to the York leadership team.”
