California DWC Issues Revisions to WCIS Regulations for an Additional 15-Day Public Comment Period By CA Dept of Industrial Relations Press Release - December 29, 2014
The CA Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has made further changes to its California EDI Implementation Guide, Version 2.0, pursuant to revision of the Workers’ Compensation Information System (WCIS) regulations, for an additional public comment period of 15 days. The comment period will close on January 13, 2015.
DWC incorporated the primarily technical changes to the California EDI Implementation Guide, Version 2.0 proposed by members of the workers’ compensation community during the last public comment period, including:
Having user name and password information supplied by WCIS
Allowing for entry of a default value when an injured worker does not have a Social Security Number
DWC believes that these updates will allow WCIS to collect more robust and useful data that will assist with research regarding workers’ compensation issues.
The notice and text of the regulations can be found on the proposed regulations page.
