| | Sedgwick To Buy VeriClaim And All Its Parent Company’s Subsidiaries By Lonce LaMon - September 22, 2014
Sedgwick announced mid-last week that they intend to acquire VeriClaim, a property loss adjusting company and third-party property claims administrator.
VeriClaim will be acquired along with all of its parent company, T&H Global Holdings, LLC’s, subsidiaries. Those subsidiary companies along with VeriClaim include VRS Vericlaim U.K. LTD; Unified Investigations & Services, Inc.; Cramer, Johnson, Wiggins & Associates, Inc.(CJW); and Ellis May. These companies combine to provide expansive claims services for commercial property claims including fire and forensics investigation services, field investigation, together with the property claims adjusting and the TPA management.
Thus, Sedgwick, which handles employer claims services of workers’ compensation, disability, FMLA and overall employee absence; along with managed care; the liability lines claims including general, professional, and auto; also warranty and credit card claims; fraud and investigation; structured settlements; and Medical compliance service, will now add a world-wide service of heavy property adjusting services that will expand Sedgwick’s reach well beyond North America.

To date, Sedgwick has operated within the U.S. and Canada with about 200 offices and 11,000 representatives. VeriClaim has a long global reach with over 400 locations throughout the world. Flexpoint Ford, LLC, a private equity firm focused on the financial services and healthcare sectors, is the company selling T&H Global Holdings, LLC and its subsidiaries (VeriClaim) to Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc.
Mike Arbour, Chief Executive Officer of VeriClaim, said, “We are excited to partner with Sedgwick to build the global leader in specialized insurance claims services. Flexpoint’s expertise in the insurance sector and strategic advice have been integral in growing VeriClaim into a market leading platform. Additionally, Flexpoint has been a valuable financial partner that has supported VeriClaim through multiple strategic acquisitions.”

"This is an exciting next step for Sedgwick as we continue to drive innovative solutions for employers and the industry," said David A. North, Sedgwick's president and CEO. "Combining the vast capabilities of the T&H and VeriClaim companies with our already robust service offerings will allow us to better serve the increasingly complex needs of our clients. With an array of property adjusting services, specialized desk top offerings and forensic investigations, we can now respond in a more comprehensive manner during the times our clients need us most."
This purchase is subject to the customary conditions and regulatory approvals, but is expected to close in the next 60 days.

For Sedgwick, the purchase of VeriClaim and all of T&H Global Holdings moves it from a North American company to a worldwide company. VeriClaim connects Sedgwick to vrs Adjusters, a global independent commercial and corporate adjusting company working worldwide. This acquisition now gives Sedgwick property adjusting services to offer its clients.
