Landmark Medical Management Coterie Of Fraudsters To Appear In Orange County Superior Court Next On Friday, August 22nd 2014
By Lonce LaMon - August 19, 2014

The next hearing in Orange County Superior Court for the Landmark Medical Management gang, swirling around the ring leader, Kareem Ahmed, the President of Landmark, will take place on Friday, August 22nd 2014. It was initially reported that a hearing would take place on August 8th, but that hearing was postponed and continued up to this coming Friday’s date for 9:00 AM in Court Room C-45.

Kareem Ahmed was donned Barack Obama's "Million Dollar Muslim Donor" in 2013 by Daniel Greenfield, a New York writer focusing on radical Islam.  Ahmed claims Nancy Pelosi is his personal friend and that since the 2013 raid on his headquarters in Ontario, California, by the Orange County District Attorney's office, he's got the White House on notice.  Wonder what Obama will do now that Ahmed is starting pre-trial after being indicted for workers' compensation fraud? Will Obama pay back the million plus dollars to the victims?

Kareem Ahmed thinks some journalists are Republican sharks in disguise who've gone undercover to get him.  Articles written since his offices were raided reveal he's on the defensive.

Two separate Indictments were filed by an Orange County Grand Jury in June 2014 with Kareem Ahmed as a defendant in one, along with Michael Rudolph, a pharmacist, and Andrew Jarminski, M.D.  Kareem Ahmad’s marketing manager, Yvette Charbonnet, is named in the other Indictment along with 11 other individuals which include 9 M.D. physicians and chiropractors.   There are 44 counts between the two indictments, inclusively, for workers’ compensation fraud against fifteen players in Southern California.

This whole case is about compound medications. Kareem Ahmed, Michael Rudolph (pharmacist) and a medical doctor named Andrew Jarminski are accused of conspiring to charge workers’ compensation carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured-self-administered entities exorbitantly high fees for transdermal cream formulas prescribed to workers’ compensation patients.  The players Kareem Ahmed, Bruce Curnick, Mike Shah (a pharmacist) and marketing manager Evette Charbonnet are accused of formulating three compound transdermal cream formulas based purely on the profitability of the ingredients.

From June 15th 2010 to December 31st 2012 (a two and a half year period) Kareem Ahmed paid physicians over 25 million dollars.  Ahmed gave this financial kickback scheme the appearance of legitimacy by requiring physicians and pharmacists to sign contracts for purchases of accounts receivables.

Kareem Ahmed managed the kickback scheme and discouraged the physicians and pharmacists from communicating with one another.  He purchased the Accounts Receivables from physicians contingent upon the physician prescribing the transdermal cream to the patient from specific pharmacies that had a contract with Ahmed.  The two pharmacies included in the indictment are Curt’s Compounding Pharmacy in Fountain Valley and Tustin Community Pharmacy Inc. (dba Healthcare Pharmacy).

The Ahmed companies that purchased accounts receivables from physicians posted a net loss of 1.8 million dollars over a 2.5 year period (June 15th 2010 to December 31, 2013).  But the Ahmed companies that purchased Accounts Receivables from pharmacies posted a net profit of over 25 million dollars for the same time period.

There are multiple enhancements in the Indictment. One is for damage to property of over 1.3 million dollars by Eduardo Anguizola, M.D. , Daniel Capen, M.D., and Andrew Jarminski, M.D.  Damage to property over $200,000 is alleged against Michael Barri, D.C., Rahil Khan, M.D., Robert Villapania, D.C., Arsalan Pourteymour, M.D., and David Evans, D.C.

The death of an infant referred to as “Andrew G.”, due to involuntary manslaughter by lawful acts in an unlawful manner, a felony, is alleged against Andrew Jarminski, M.D., Michael Rudolph (pharmacist) and Kareem Ahmed.

The kick-backs from Ahmed for referring patients to either Curt’s Compounding Pharmacy in Fountain Valley or Healthcare Pharmacy in Tustin are alleged as exceeding what follows:

  • Arsalan Pourteymour, M.D. and David Evans, D.C. of Performance Medical Group:  $650,000.
  • Eduardo Anguizola, M.D. of Tustin:  $2,000,000.
  • Daniel Alexander Capen, M.D. listed in Downey:  $2,500,000.
  • Andrew Jarminski, M.D. listed as practicing in Lawndale, Long Beach, and Downey: $1,900,000.
  • Randy Rosen, M.D.: $600,000.
  • Robert Villapania, D.C. listed in Long Beach, owner of Regional Associates Medical Group:  $1,000,000.
  • Michael Barri, D.C., owner of Tri-Star Industrial Medical Group: $1,000,000.
  • Rahil Khan, M.D. listed as practicing in Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Westminster, Long Beach, and Los Angeles:  $1,000,000.

The defendants posted their bails back in mid-June 2014. The bonds posted ranged from $100,000 to $1,000,000.
