California Division of Workers' Compensation Posts Adjustments to Official Medical Fee Schedule for Pathology and Clinical Laboratory

Employers Insurance Company of Nevada (EICN), the parent of Fremont Employers Insurance Company (FEIC) didn’t waste any time yesterday to make sure the commissioner’s action against Fremont Indemnity Company (FIC) had no bearing on them whatsoever.

"Today's announcement by the Department of Insurance does not affect our company, its subsidiaries or our current book of business," said EICN Chief Executive Officer Douglas Dirks. "Unlike FIC, Fremont Employers Insurance Company is financially strong, continues to enjoy a successful year, and remains a thriving business."

In July 2002, EICN purchased FIC's ongoing book of business. The transaction resulted in the formation of FEIC, which received its certificate of authority from the California Department of Insurance in August 2002. FEIC assumed the renewal rights to FIC's book of business, and also began writing new business.

FEIC’s flag is planted firmly in California with offices in Glendale, Newbury Park, Fresno and San Francisco.
