| | Matt Horton Hired As Vice President Of Marketing At Atlas General Insurance Services

Matt Horton has been hired by Atlas General Insurance Services as the Vice President of Marketing for the Western Region. Atlas is a general agency with a multi-line program with a focus on workers’ compensation. The company is based in San Diego, California, with over 40 employees.
Horton’s responsibility will be to develop Atlas’s current agency base and manage distribution in the Western Region. His special focus is to be to grow the business in Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, and California. He will manage the West’s marketing team.
Matt Horton has over 10 years of marketing experience in the Workers’ Compensation market in the Western States. Most recently, he was the president of Avalon Pacific Insurance Services, a wholesaler in northern California. Previously, he managed and developed the northern California territory for a monoline workers’ compensation carrier.
Mike Matthews, the President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlas, said, “Matt’s experience in the workers’ compensation field and his long standing relationships within the industry will drive the strategic development of Atlas’s Western Region. We look forward to his leadership in meeting the growth goals of this division.”
Mike Matthews was promoted to President and COO of Atlas in late 2011. Prior to Atlas, he was the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Arrowhead General Insurance Agency for their Workers’ Compensation Division.
