California DWC Posts Adjustment of Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) Inpatient Hospital Section to Conform to Medicare Changes By Press Release - March 3, 2014
The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted an adjustment to the inpatient hospital section of the official medical fee schedule (OMFS) to conform to changes in the Medicare payment system DRG relative weights, as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. The effective date of the changes is March 15, 2014.
DWC will be initiating a rulemaking to amend the inpatient hospital fee schedule regulations to achieve greater consistency with Medicare’s recent changes to their fee-related structure and rules of the hospital inpatient prospective payment system. The hospital composite factors, hospital cost-to-charge ratios, and hospital specific outlier factors will be updated as part of the rulemaking process.
