The agenda for the Van Nuys, January 13, and Oakland, January 14, public meetings on utilization review (UR) and independent medical review (IMR) is as follows:

The presentation will focus on the data that has been collected on UR and the new IMR program so that the public will have a sense of what’s really happening with treatment requests. DWC will also update the public on how the final UR and IMR regulations differ from the emergency regulations.
“We hope the presentation will lay the groundwork for the public to understand how UR and IMR help make sure that injured workers are receiving timely, appropriate, and evidence-based medical treatment,” says Destie Overpeck, Acting Administrative Director for DWC.
