Veteran claims manager Darrell Brown has just been named by Sedgwick as their Chief Performance Officer, the company announced yesterday.
Darrell came to Sedgwick in 2001 as an assistant claims manager and worked in the Orange, California, office which is the largest workers’ compensation claims office for Sedgwick in the Southern California region. Several of Sedgwick’s largest accounts were handled in that office when he started there; he continued his work in Orange while being promoted to claims manager.
Not too long after being promoted to claims manager, Darrell was transferred to the Sedgwick Long Beach office where he continued to be promoted to levels of vice-president. He oversaw the entire Southern California workers’ compensation claims operation.
Now, with this newly created position of Chief Performance Officer, Darrell will work with company leaders to develop and oversee the measurement of dynamic quality and performance programs, processes, and systems to enhance Sedgwick’s best-in-class service delivery and customer expectations.
David A. North, the President and CEO of Sedgwick, said about Darrell Brown, “With Darrell leading the charge to redefine quality for our organization, we will continue to sharpen our focus on how our practices ultimately impact claims outcomes. Throughout his career, Darrell Brown has displayed an unparalleled commitment to excellence and quality claims management.”
Darrell has his certificate with SIP (Self-Insurance-Plans) with the state of California, and the designation of Associate of Risk Management. He graduated from Cal State Northridge. A while back he served as an instructor for IEA (Insurance Educational Association) and taught courses on workers’ compensation case law.
He will continue to be based in the Long Beach, California, office.
