Last fall adjustercom.com reported on the hard hit a southland softball team suffered when the Feds busted key teammates for a voc rehab scheme that grossed over $400,000.
But even though the brunt of the charges impacted Angel Uribe and Jorge Riesgo, they weren’t severe enough to keep at least one of these men from continuing to make a buck off the workers’ compensation system.
adjustercom.com learned last week that Riesgo is now a partner in the Los Angeles office of the vocational firm, Herrera & Associates.
Riesgo was the starting catcher for the fraud all-star team and probably thought that he was on the road to pulling down a salary comparable to Piazza’s.
As the pitcher, Uribe, a claims supervisor for Alexis Risk Management, the RSKCo subsidiary of CNA Financial, successfully sent hundreds of fraudulent voc rehab payments across the plate to Riesgo.
Both pled guilty to charges in February and have sentencing dates set for this summer. But until then, proceed with caution when utilizing the services of a company that would employ a rehab counselor with a fraudulent claims average like Riesgo’s.
