| | Veteran Claims Professional Michael McFadden Promoted To Regional Vice President Of Patriot National Insurance Company For California By Lonce LaMon - January 30, 2013
Michael McFadden, who has been the Vice President of Operations at Patriot National Insurance Group in Woodland Hills, California, since he joined the company in October of 2011, has been promoted to Regional Vice President by Patriot and will now oversee all marketing and underwriting for California. Patriot National is a monoline workers’ compensation carrier.
Last September of 2012, when Michael was interviewed by adjustercom, he stated he thought the next opportunity would be to bring out Patriot’s underwriting practice into California to help better support the local agents and brokers. “It’s worked well so far dealing with Fort Lauderdale,” he said at that time of Patriot’s underwriting, which was then fully based in the company’s Florida headquarters, “but relationships can work so much better when you’re physically together in an area where people can come by and you can have those personal interactions.”
Now four months later McFadden says that it’s been a tremendous experience expanding the west coast regional headquarters and that the RVP position will allow him to continue to grow the talent within the operation. It now includes a local underwriting presence where he can have personal involvement in the production and distribution channels in the region.
Michael has a tremendous background in workers’ compensation claims. He started as a clerical person right out of high school in 1985 at Lumberman’s Mutual, and by 1986 he was working for Zenith Insurance Company where he continued in clerical work. “I was researching what the claim number was and then passing the mail out to the claims personnel.”
He worked into a claims assistant position and then continued on up to become the Vice President of Claims for Zenith’s Los Angeles Regional office. Overall, Michael worked for The Zenith for 25 years until 2011. For a more detailed background on Michael along with some personal profile, see adjustercom’s October 1st 2012 People column.
