Kelly Soo Park Marries Tom Chronister. She Appears In Court With Him Alone.
By Lonce LaMon - December 13, 2012

On December 11th, just this past Tuesday, Kelly Soo Park and her new husband, Tom Chronister, appeared together in Los Angeles criminal court for another one of Kelly Soo’s pretrial appearances.   They appeared all by themselves, alone, without a single member of Kelly Soo’s usual and customary entourage.   Not a single member of her family was there except for Tom, who is now her husband.

Kelly Soo was wearing a long grey sweater with tan slacks.   I could see her ankles easily, as her pants fell only to above her ankles, but I did not see any ankle monitoring bracelet.  She wore alligator skin patterned flats on her feet.   She’s about to start her trial on March 11th 2012 for the March 15th 2008 murder of aspiring actress and model Juliana Redding.

Tom wore regular blue jeans, a white shirt, and a casual black jacket.   He’s a tall man of a good size.  At least six feet tall.  He shaves his head and wears a mustache and a chin beard.  He definitely has the physical prowess of an imposing policeman.

Some senior police officers from the Oxnard, California, Police Department communicated through the grapevine that Tom and Kelly Soo got married sometime just last month—maybe only three weeks ago.   Tom Chronister retired from the Oxnard Police Department just very recently in the Summer of 2012.   He was a veteran Patrol Watch Commander who started with the Oxnard Police in 1983.

Tom is highly educated with a degree from the University of Redlands and also a master’s degree in public administration from Cal State Northridge.   According to communications through anonymous sources, colleagues at the Oxnard Police Department became concerned when Chronister started dating Kelly Soo Park sometime around November of 2011.  Reports state that Tom is under investigation by the Oxnard Police because of a potential conflict of interest over associating with someone accused of a felony crime while he was still actively employed.   Old colleagues have been said to now joke that Tom will have to visit his new wife in prison.

And Tom Chronister is probably the best thing Kelly Soo Park has going for her.  I don’t believe the conspiracy theories that get written to me that Tom could be a plant from Dr. Munir Uwaydah.  Nothing calculating and rational like that happened.   It was all irrational.   Tom simply fell in love with Kelly Soo Park.

Her family has clear ties to Dr. Munir Uwaydah, who is clearly no doctor in the spirit for numerous reasons—only one being that he is believed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney to be the mastermind who ordered the murder of Juliana Redding by Kelly Soo Park.   It was considerably about pharmaceutical and workers’ compensation fraud.  The numbers vary according to the different news reports, but according to several, just days before Park’s arrest in June of 2010, Park’s family allegedly received a payment of $113,400, which was transferred to a Korean bank account.

Now, why would payments be going to Ms. Park’s family and not just to Kelly Soo Park alone?  It’s certainly odd, as I can’t remember ever in my entire career and lifetime doing work for any entity and having my family receive the compensation for my work.   So it certainly conveys a message; it implicitly implies that the family is part of Munir Uwaydah’s crime ring along with Kelly Soo.…  This is a bad implication which isn’t good for Kelly Soo's defense…

Kelly Soo has signed a waiver of conflict-of-interest, and Judge Kathleen Kennedy showed great concern over her signing this waiver.  Munir Uwaydah is paying for her defense, and the District Attorney found this out through the investigative work of Detective Karen Thompson of the Santa Monica Police Department.  Uwaydah’s company, Ventura Collection and Management, LLC, paid in two payments on April 17th 2012 and May 30th 2012, a total of $150,000 to Kelly Soo Park’s lawyers, George Buehler and Mark Kassabian.  Now with Kelly Soo being defended by the very alleged mastermind of the crime, she cannot testify against him.  And all these defense lawyers will be able to do is chip away at the D.A.’s evidence.   This has already begun to happen.  Motions in Limine have already begun.

It’s a long way up with pick axes and ice picks to stab away at all the evidence against Kelly Soo.  A case against Uwaydah cannot be put together by Buehler and Kassabian obviously because that’s who’s paying them.   You don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

And this is so unfortunate for Kelly Soo.  I think that without pinning the crime on Uwaydah, Tom Chronister’s colleagues will be right.   Chronister will be visiting his wife for a long time in prison.  She will pay the entire penalty for Uwaydah.  She’ll be his scapegoat.   Because, that’s what Uwaydah is buying.  However, tragically, Kelly Soo and her family don’t seem to get it.

You see, I don’t think Kelly Soo Park is the “real” killer.   If Kelly Soo really put her hands on Juliana Redding’s throat and strangled her, as the District Attorney alleges, then Uwaydah drove her to it.  He was the procuring cause.  He was the demonic force to which she was enthralled.   She was driven and controlled in the alleged act by him.

Kelly Soo did not commit this crime “all by herself” as one reader wrote to me.   “I…. still have a hard time grasping the picture of Kelly Soo killing this innocent girl all by herself,“ an adjustercom reader wrote to me less than two weeks ago.   Of course it’s hard to grasp because there’s no way Kelly Soo could have, or would have, killed this “innocent girl all by herself”.

I’ve written this before:  Uwaydah is a Jim Jones.  A Hitler. I have been sued (three times, so far) by Uwaydah and in one of his complaints he complained vociferously that I compared him to Hitler.  And yes I certainly did compare him to Hitler.  Absolutely.

Remember Auschwitz.  Remember Jonestown.  Remember that amongst the 909 dead at Jonestown, many were injected with the cyanide concoction.  So, many were murdered.  People injected their own children!

Those Jonestown members who died in 1978 were predominantly highly educated, wealthy people from the California San Francisco Bay Area.  So, how can highly educated, intelligent people be driven to murder?  Here’s my point: when you have a charismatic leader with powerful psychological control over a person or persons, you can see diabolical things happen.  Murder is right in there.  It’s called psychological “thralldom”.

Kelly Soo was “in thralled” to Uwaydah.  Her family and friends are all ostensibly well-educated, intelligent individuals who are successful, wealthy, and human.   They are not gang members.  They are not scary looking.  They all look warm and well developed and like individuals anyone would feel very comfortable inviting home for dinner.   But they’re in thralled to Uwaydah and unfortunately Uwaydah is evil.   When are they going to break out of their opium den?

Now Tom and Kelly Soo look like a very happy, well-adjusted couple.  Kelly Soo was smiling regularly on Tuesday.   George Buehler and Mark Kassabian stood both in their dark grey pin stripped suits before the judge’s area in front of their side of the table and sometimes sat in the chairs just in front of the partition.  They waited for the judge and talked to Deputy D.A. Stacey Okun-Weise.  Stacey mentioned Enterprise Rent-A-Car.  “I got your email.  My gosh, I have a lot of stuff for you,” she said with energy to the defense lawyers.

Kelly Soo and Tom sat in their usual spot in the third row of the audience seats at the very end near the aisle.  Tom sat exactly at the end.   Kelly Soo was just on his right side with her large brown hand bag cradled by her right.   The court room was very quiet for a long time.   It was practically empty except for Kelly Soo, Tom, me, and two or three others from another case.  For a long period of time, there were only some whispers and the sound of the bailiff’s walkie-talkie.  Jurors kept walking through the court room and through the jury pool seats and on back through the back door.   There was clearly a trial going on and these jurors were most likely in deliberation.

Judge Kathleen Kennedy was walking around by the clerk’s desk chatting in a gorgeous red tailored suit of the type Diane Feinstein and Gloria Allred always wear.  Then, eventually she finally came out with her robe casually slung on.   She announced the matter of Kelly Soo Park and stated that the parties want to put over until January 4th 2013.   So, the matter was put over.

There was a discussion between Judge Kennedy and the lawyers over the subpoenaed records.  One subpoena was from the Santa Monica Police Department and another was from the Manhattan Beach Police Department.   The copies were turned over to the respective parties and each party gave consent.

Munir Uwaydah.  He is a former spinal surgeon who had his license revoked in California in 2010.  He is presently on the lam somewhere in Lebanon avoiding questioning and confrontation by the FBI and several other U.S. and California law enforcement agencies.  © Lonce LaMon.  All rights reserved.

And that was it.  Now the newly-weds won’t have to come back until 8:30 am on January 4th 2013.   They can enjoy the holidays most likely like most other happy couples with the exception that they will have Kelly Soo’s upcoming trial hanging over their heads.

The lovely parents of Juliana Redding, Patricia and Gregory Redding, will clearly be in agony like they have been every Christmas since the murder of their beloved daughter.   And Munir Uwaydah will still be spending Christmas on the lam in Lebanon for his third Christmas season in a row.

Next year, 2013, the trial of Kelly Soo Park will start on or about March 11th but the case sure won’t be decided.  That won’t happen until Munir Uwaydah is returned to stand trial and take responsibility for his part in this murder.  No innocent “person of interest” ever flees the scene and goes on the lam to a country with no extradition treaty.  No justice will ever happen until Uwaydah is extradited to face the FBI’s, the Secret Service’s, Homeland Security’s, the Santa Monica Police Department’s, the Los Angeles Police Department’s, and the L.A. District Attorney’s questions and accusations.

The trial of Kelly Soo Park will be an interesting spectacle, but whatever the outcome, absent Uwaydah it will nevertheless be a travesty of justice.
