The Stockwell Firm’s Cross-Complaint Reveals More Motivation For Firing Former Partner Richard Widom Than Him Beating His Wife
By Lonce LaMon - November 12, 2012

Revised and updated on November 24th, 2012.

On December 4th 2012, the civil lawsuit of Richard Widom vs Stockwell, Harris, Widom, Woolverton & Muehl (now Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Muehl) will be further heard in Los Angeles Superior Court on 111 No. Hill Street in Downtown Los Angeles.   The anticipated trial is now predicted to start sometime near June of 2013.

The Complaint filed by Richard Widom against the Stockwell firm alleging he was wrongfully terminated in order that Stockwell could deprive him of his retirement and deferred compensation of around four million dollars was countered with a Cross-Complaint by the Stockwell firm alleging Widom was justifiably fired for beating his wife, also a Stockwell firm lawyer, but also was later discovered to have allegedly pilfered the firm of hundreds of thousands of dollars, allegedly recruited several attorneys away from Stockwell while engaging in unfair competition while still a shareholder and director of Stockwell, and for allegedly abusing numerous employees.    A line from the Second Amended Cross-Complaint Of Stockwell, Harris, Widom, Woolverton & Muehl Against Richard M. Widom And The Law Offices Of Richard Widom dated October 25th 2010 reads, “Finally, in March 2009 Widom’s behavior threatened to bring down the Stockwell firm when he assaulted and battered his wife and firm employee, Lisa Kerner, and then told her to get the f*** out of the marital household.”

I’ve heard that line before:  “Get the f**** out!”  My sister, Linda, screamed it twice in succession at me on September 9th 2009 inside her house in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, just a little over six months after Richard Widom allegedly screamed the same thing at Lisa Kerner.  So, I know this verbal hand-grenade first-hand.  This kind of violent verbal attack on someone to get the you-know-what out is the rage of a major Narcissist.  And that’s precisely what the psychological expression is:  Narcissistic rage.

Rene Thomas Folse, another workers’ compensation defense attorney, screamed at me in a violent rage back in 1996 to get the you-know-what out of the network room near my rented office inside 101 Moody Court in Thousand Oaks, California.   Then

"I can do whatever I want, to whomever I want, and there is nothing you can do to stop me."

words attributed to Richard Widom out of the Stockwell Cross-Complaint

he further screamed, “If you come in here tonight and touch one of these computers, you will find me waiting for you with a gun.”

Rene is a Narcissist, just exactly like Richard Widom sounds to be, if the assertions about Widom's screaming and yelling contained in the Stockwell Cross-Complaint are true.  And these individuals, especially since they are living in the bodies of adult men, are very dangerous.  They attack, they abuse, and they fly into terrifying rages that horrify and seriously injure the people around them.   One cannot survive them in a work place environment.

On page 3 of the Cross-Complaint, it reads that “the principals of the Stockwell firm addressed Kerner’s allegations with Widom, they asked him if he would attend anger management courses and to modify his behavior.”   But, “Widom told the firm’s principals to ‘F*** themselves’ and that ‘I can do whatever I want, to whomever I want, and there is nothing you can do to stop me’.  Widom’s abusive behavior left the firm with no choice but to terminate him from the firm.”

This makes sense, if it's indeed true.  It also makes sense if it's true that with Richard Widom as the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of the firm, he had no boundaries with the firm’s money.   Narcissists never have any boundaries: other people are just objects to be used by them and are not separate beings with integrity unto themselves.  So, other people’s money will always get used without compunction.

“Widom also exploited the Law Firm’s money in a variety of improper ways,” item 4 on page 3 of the Cross-Complaint reads,

"Widom's behavior at the law firm was atrocious, by mistreating numerous employees through bullying, screaming, threatening, exceptionally foul and abusive remarks and displays of uncontrolled rage."

from the Cross-Complaint of the Stockwell firm

“including the use of the Law Firm’s money to pay for his honeymoon, expenses associated with at least two trips for Scott and Amy Secor on a vacation in Hawaii, a secret apartment in Brentwood, California and over $250,000 to Jean Pinto in interior decorating expenses for his personal home, among other improper expenses.”

A discussion is also presented in the Cross-Complaint on how Widom allegedly used his superior position in the Law Firm to make “unwanted sexual overtures to female employees…”  He allegedly used Stockwell’s computer system for surfing sexually oriented and dating websites.  He allegedly demanded silence from women in the firm whom he allegedly sexually harassed, under threat of discharge.  Also, the first line of item 5 on page 3 reads: “Widom’s behavior at the Law Firm was atrocious, by mistreating numerous employees through bullying, screaming, threatening, exceptionally foul and abusive remarks and displays of uncontrolled rage.”  That last sentence is a perfect description of Narcissistic rage.

Another individual who claimed abuse by Widom is Ted Hirschberger, an attorney with the Stockwell firm.  Hirschberger filed a work comp claim based entirely upon the mistreatment he claimed he received from Widom.  He obtained an award.

Narcissists often obsessively want to sue everybody.  I have observed this in litigation.  They will manipulate the system in every conceivable manner, seemingly to no end for their own ends, and then they will accuse the other party of excessive manipulation through projection.  This is what ultra-extreme Narcissist Dr. Munir Uwaydah, the notorious workers' compensation fraud doctor, does.  He tries to control everything and everyone through literally hundreds of law suits. And if he can't get his way he becomes murderous.  He is now on the lam in Lebanon.

This upcoming Widom-Stockwell trial will most likely be pretty unbelievable.  From what I’ve seen so far, this case doesn’t look like it has much of a chance of settling.  Most likely, a jury is going to decide.  There are already 76 documented witnesses.
