Workers' Compensation QME Pain Specialist, Dr. Steven Sadler, Dies After Fall From Horse By Lonce LaMon - July 13, 2012
A workers’ compensation QME, Steven Sadler, who was a pain management specialist and an anesthesiologist, died yesterday when his heart stopped in the early hours of the morning. Dr. Sadler had been hospitalized after a fall from his horse on Saturday. He was declared brain dead shortly after the accident. He was taken to Cottage Hospital.
Steven Sadler had his practice at 9100 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California, and was a passionate polo player. He was practicing at the Santa Barbara Polo Club just this past Saturday, July 7th, when his horse stumbled, lost its balance, and threw him head first into the crowd. He had been on life support since that day.
Two years ago he had a previous accident and broke his neck. After recovering, he returned to riding and playing polo just this past Winter.
It is said that Dr. Steven Sadler acted as a treating doctor on some orthopedic pain cases which were workers’ compensation related.
