According to an Insurance Information Institute analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics figures, 300 claims adjuster positions were added in November of 2011. Total employment in the claims adjuster sector of the United States therefore reached 48,400 in November.
The insurance industry in general went up 2,900 jobs in November 2011 from October 2011.
The total insurance industry employment now stands, from the November 2011 statistics, at 2,212,300.
The President of the Insurance Information Institute, Robert Hartwig, said the Agent and Broker employment rose in November 2011 to the highest number since June 2011 to 643,200. Apart from June 2011, he stated these numbers had not been so high since December of 2009 when total employment was 647,900.
Third-party administrators shrunk in November of 2011 in total jobs by 1,000. Total employment for TPAs was 127,200.
