The update on Stanley Zax is that he’s transitioning into Chairman of the Board of Zenith Insurance Company, which isn’t precisely a “retirement” as prior press announcements, in this writer’s view, wrote out a little ambiguously. He’s transitioning into a change of role.
Headquartered in Woodland Hills, California, Zenith Insurance will have Jack Miller, the current CFO, segue into the role of CEO and President come 2012. Therefore, Stanley Zax will definitely still remain active as the Zenith Chairman of the Board.
Lonce LaMon: Are you really retiring or are you just becoming Chairman of the Board?
Stanley Zax: So, that’s what the announcement said, so I’m sure that’s 100% accurate.
Well, that wasn’t precisely how this writer read the announcement, but my intention in ringing Stanley’s phone as my first activity of this morning wasn’t to engage in a battle of words.
Lonce LaMon: So, it’s really just a change in your role. You’re really not retiring completely.
Stanley Zax: That’s a fact.
Zax let me know with his characteristic, meat-ax-blunt honesty, that I was wasting his time. So, he’s a very busy man, who doesn’t at all yet sound like a man in retirement with new-found time on his hands.
