| | ISYSEd Rolls Out Web Site Offering Online Training By Lonce LaMon - November 21, 2011
Alysha Calderon, the General Manager of Education Services at ISYSEd in Brea, California, announced late in the afternoon on Friday, November 18th, 2011 that the ISYSEd web site offering online training is now live at www.ISYSEd.com.
Chris Loumakis, the President of ISYSEd, responded to the announcement by writing, “Please join me in congratulating Alysha Loumakis-Calderon and her able team of Joe Archibald, David Strybel, Angie Jung, Tanya Jutting-Loumakis, and Lyndsi Loumakis for bringing us to this important benchmark.”
Now at the web address of www.ISYSEd.com, dozens of classes are readily available for workers’ compensation claims adjusters, nurses, nurse case managers, and rehabilitation counselors. All courses are fully accredited for CE credits by the appropriate agencies.
Courses range in price depending upon the class. There is also an option to purchase all the courses for a flat rate which can be taken during a one year period.
During each year, live seminars are also put on by ISYSEd in conference rooms of hotels throughout California. Just recently in October and November, a conference on orthopedic injuries with Dr. Stuart Gold, Director of the Orthopedic Institute in Torrance and Chief of Fracture Reconstruction and Associate Clinical Professor at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, presented "The Truth About Orthopedic Injuries: An Untold Story of Diagnosis, Treatment, and Recovery." The events took place both in Pasadena and in Walnut Creek, California. They were highly successful, and were well attended by members of the workers' compensation and healthcare communities.
Dr. Gold spoke about why so many orthopedic injury claims drag on, common causes of misdiagnosis, and factors to consider when managing orthopedic injury claims. Seven industry-related vendors sponsored tables at the two events.
In January of 2011, an extraordinary training seminar took place during a lunch hour at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Hotel to educate workers’ compensation claims professionals on the subject of spinal cord injuries. A retired Los Angeles Police Department officer, Kristina Ripatti, was featured and honored. Ripatti was shot in the line of duty in 2006, and was treated by Nurse Case Manager, Angie Jung, of ISYS Case Management.
There wasn’t a seat left open in the whole conference room as Ann Vasile, M.D., Medical Director of Spinal Cord Injury and Rehabilitation at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Angie Jung, and Kristina Ripatti gave a panel set of lectures to the group which were not only highly educational and informative, but were very entertaining. There was plenty of applause accompanied by repeated cacophonies of laughter as the speakers engaged the audience.
Coming up on March 27th 2012, a live presentation will take place again in Anaheim, California, on “Burns: Reconstructive Surgery, Psychological Impacts, and Scar Management”. It will include physicians from the Grossman Burn Center who will demonstrate cutting edge technology used for patients affected by burns.
There will again be a panel-style discussion during the lunch hour offering a plated lunch. 2 CEU’s will be credited from the California Board of Registered Nurses for registered nurses and the California Department of Insurance for workers’ compensation claims adjusters. Nurses, adjusters, and any other professionals interested in attending can sign up now for this event at www.ISYSEd.com.
