Munir Uwaydah, M.D.'s Whereabouts Still Shrouded In Mystery. Kelly Soo Park Case For Alleged Murder Resumes Tomorrow. Part II.
By Lonce LaMon - May 19, 2011

Richard Green answered his phone on the first ring when this writer called him on Monday and only had this to say, “I don’t represent him (Uwaydah).  I am out of the picture.  I am no longer his lawyer on anything.”

But he went on to further hint that part of the reason he is no longer representing Uwaydah is because he hasn’t been paid.  He would not disclose the amount of money Uwaydah owes him.

With this in mind, I thought that perhaps the reason Uwaydah withdrew his Complaint against me and adjustercom.com for libel in January of 2011 is possibly because he wasn’t paying his lawyer, Benjamin Fenton, in that action either.  So, I called Benjamin Fenton, whose office is in the Beverly Hills area, to ask him the reason for withdrawing the Complaint against me “without prejudice”.  I got his voice mail and left a detailed message, asking him amongst my set of questions if he had possibly dumped Uwaydah for not paying him.  However, Benjamin Fenton has not responded to my message.

What puzzles me is this whole murder case.   The workers’ compensation fraud does not puzzle me, because as one investigator appropriately commented, Munir Uwaydah M.D. is just one fraud shark in a whole ocean of them; and as soon as one is snuffed out another one just swims up in its place and bites.  They all follow a pattern, and presently a slew of them indulge in the art of prescribing compounded drugs for outrageously high fees—all to exploit the absence of a fee schedule in the workers’ comp system.

But this murder case is weird.  In the minds of many, Dr. Uwaydah is linked to the crime by association.  Kelly Soo Park was his associate and/or employee; thus, Uwaydah was paying Kelly Soo.  Then, Juliana Redding, his former girlfriend and love interest, winds up murdered.   Kelly Soo Park’s DNA is found at the crime scene.  The only link between Juliana and Kelly Soo is Munir Uwaydah.   So, how did Kelly Soo Park and Juliana Redding hook up?

The emphasis so far that has been expressed by the media, makes a connection between Juliana Redding’s father, a pharmacist, and a business deal he had in development with Dr. Uwaydah.  Greg Redding, the pharmacist father, wound up backing out of the deal.  Then, just some days later, his daughter is murdered.   So, is there some cause and effect connection here between this failed deal and the murder?  Or is it just a synchronistic event?    There’s an implication that somehow the lack of success of this business negotiation played in as a catalyst in the murder.  But maybe it’s not cause and effect and that the two events—the rejection of the business deal and the murder—just happened to coincidentally fall close together in time.

Juliana Redding

Now another anonymous source has recently informed me that the business deal between Dr. Uwaydah and pharmacist Greg Redding was only for a $70,000 a year contract.  Greg Redding wanted the use of Dr. Uwaydah’s private jet out of the deal, but Uwaydah said no; so Greg Redding said forget it I’m not interested.  And according to this account Uwaydah was fine with that.  He said okay, no problem.

Then, just some several days later, Juliana Redding is found murdered.  So, was this a crime of passion?  Did Kelly Soo Park murder Juliana Redding out of jealousy and a passion for Uwaydah?  After all, she had been one in a long concatenation of Uwaydah’s short-term lovers.  Or, if Kelly Soo did not murder Juliana Redding, who did?  Who did it?

Who done it?!

Kelly Soo Park stands near the exit of Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in front of her lawyer, Kay Rackauckas, on February 28th 2011 after court proceedings.

So, why did Uwaydah split the scene?  Is he out of the country?  Why has he acted as a person with a guilty conscience and not talked to the police but has gotten out of town like a criminal on the lam?  It doesn’t make sense except to powerfully suggest that he had a hand in the crime.  He acts like a person acts who has a consciousness of guilt.

If Uwaydah’s somewhere else in the world and possibly in the Middle East, here’s another thing that’s interesting.  He presently has his medical license revoked, except that the revocation has been stayed pending a two-year probation.   This was put into effect on October 1st 2010.

I have a copy of that Medical Board document, and here is some of the language:

Respondent shall be available in person for interviews either at the Respondent's place of business or at the probation unit office, with the Board or its designee, upon request at various intervals, and either with or without prior notice throughout the terms of probation.

Well, if he’s been out of the country since last June, how is he going to avail himself in person to interviews either with or without prior notice?

And furthermore:

In the event the Respondent should leave the state of California to reside or to practice, Respondent shall notify the Board or its designee in writing 30 calendar days prior to the dates of departure and return.

He ostensibly left in quite a hurry.  But he left before this document was even issued, so now he has to notify the Board 30 days prior to his return.  But it doesn’t appear yet that he has returned.

And further than this:

Respondent's license shall be automatically cancelled if Respondent's periods of temporary or permanent residence or practice outside California exceed two years.

So, if Dr. Uwaydah doesn’t come back to the United States by October of 2012, or if he hasn't already come back, then according to this document his probation has been violated and his license is fully revoked.

So, has he come back?   Nobody I have talked to knows…  Even his now ex-lawyer, Richard Green, does not know where he is; and seems not to have known since the Kelly Soo Park arrest last June.

However, tomorrow, May 20th at 9 am I will be in downtown Los Angeles in Department 109 to see what happens next with Kelly Soo.  And who knows what will happen next…
