Kelly Soo Park's Hard Drive Still In Conflict With Investigators. Workers' Comp Fraud Issue Won't Allow Case To Be Just About Murder.
By Lonce LaMon - March 28, 2011

This past Thursday, March 24th 2011, Kelly Soo Park appeared in court again to continue the proceedings against her as the accused in the Santa Monica, California, murder of Juliana Redding on March 15th 2008.  The proceedings took place in the Court Room of the Honorable Kathleen Kennedy in Department 109 at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Downtown Los Angeles at 210 Temple Street.

Numerous media vans lined the sidewalk of Spring Street leading up to the corner of Temple Street, but not out of any interest in Kelly Soo Park or her former (or perhaps still present) and elusive boss, Munir Marwan Uwaydah, M.D.--who left the country back in the Summer of 2010 when Kelly Soo was arrested.  The media vans were there for the City of Bell corruption and embezzlement case, which has fascinated the public and media's attention for months, leaving not much energy to focus on Dr. Uwaydah and Kelly Soo Park. The trial for the perpetrators in the Bell debacle is going on now in the same Court House.

However, a very small crew of the CBS News' 48 Hours Mystery show was inside Department 109 filming the rather uneventful proceedings in anticipation of producing a 48 Hours episode on this case of the tragic murder of 21-year-old aspiring model and actress Juliana Redding, a former girlfriend of Munir Uwaydah's whose father, Greg Redding, is a pharmacist. Was Juliana Redding murdered as a revenge killing to send a message to Greg Redding for backing out of a proposition and deal offered to him by Dr. Uwaydah?  Was it blood revenge to shut up Greg Redding about the terms of the proposition?

Munir Uwaydah is outside of the United States at this time but is constantly phoning people here in the U.S.  It is reported that he and his business partner, Paul Turley, a chiropractor, have their money machine up and running again while there are lots of rumors around that Uwaydah is perpetually in and out of the U.S.  There are even rumors that Uwaydah has been spotted here in California.  However, the dominant view is that Munir Uwaydah is somewhere in the Middle East.

During the second weekend in February, just last month, several of Uwaydah's prized horses were at a horse show in Palm Desert, however he was not seen there.  Accompanying the horses were his German trainers and a German woman rider, who is very talented, and who was the one who rode the horses. So, it looks from this that Uwaydah is definitely spending money.

Kelly Soo Park arrived in court on Thursday wearing a long white coat with her usual and customary multi-colored wool muffler around her neck.  She always appears to be cold, which may be symbolic as well as just a consequence of her being thin.  She wore her trademark black pants this time with high heels that had those extremely long, thin and pointed toes sticking out in front a couple of inches.  That style of shoes always reminds me of witch shoes. The Italians make a lot of them and I can only imagine how much they must pinch ones toes.

Kelly Soo sat in the back row of the court audience seats before Judge Kathleen Kennedy called her case. Then, she moved forward before the judge and sat to the left of her attorney, Kay Rackauckas.  On the right side of the courtroom from the audience perspective stood and sat the two deputy district attorneys: Eric Harmon and Halim Dhanidina.

The discussion in court continued about the conflicts with the Hard Drive confiscated from Park, as evidence not just in this murder case but for the case of workers' compensation fraud.  Now, there are a Play Station and a Router which have been thrown into the mix as being demanded to be returned to the defendant.

It was discussed how Detective Karen Thompson of the Santa Monica Police Department was scheduled to go on camera that day with Judge Kennedy, and that it is going to take some time, according to Kennedy, to iron out this issue of the conflict.  Because of this time necessary, Judge Kennedy requested not to resume court proceedings until April 22nd 2011.
