In The Matter Of Munir Uwaydah, M.D. - For The Workers' Compensation Fraud Doctor, Deception And Dishonesty Are The Sine Qua Non Of His Life, Part II
By Douglas Cameron - November 2, 2010

Summary of Part I:  In 2008, my friend Marcie asked me to help her friend Jeannie, who had gotten pregnant by Munir Uwaydah, M.D.  He had threatened to kidnap their son and take him to Lebanon.

I met with Jeannie and reviewed the extensive amount of research material she had assembled on Dr. Uwaydah.

The research revealed that Uwaydah had a wife with three of his children living in Lebanon with his mother; a mistress with whom he had twin children living in Marina Del Rey, California; this former mistress (Jeannie, not her real name) with whom he had a son born in 2007, and a girlfriend named Juliana Redding, with whom he'd had a personal relationship from September of 2007 until she was murdered at the age of 21 on March 16th 2008 in Santa Monica, California.

Public records indicated Uwaydah was involved in several lawsuits involving fraud.  He was implicated in an attempted stabbing of a young woman who had criticized him.  He had substantial investments in properties in Estonia, Germany, and in the U.S.  He had promised to marry Jeannie but instead sent her on a roller coaster ride of false promises.  (For the complete article, see In The Matter Of Munir, October 28, 2010.)

On Mother’s Day of 2007, Dr. Munir Uwaydah contacted Jeannie and threatened to take their son as soon as he was born to Lebanon. In an effort to protect her child, Jeannie then contacted a family friend and asked him to marry her. She was married in late May 2007.

Munir Uwaydah found out about the marriage and contacted Jeannie and asked her to forgive him and promised to support her and her child, get her the engagement ring, the new car, and move her into the home in Beverly Hills, if she would annul the marriage (that he agreed to pay for) and return to live with him. Her new husband agreed to the annulment as did Jeannie, believing that Munir Uwaydah would keep his promise. He did not keep his promise.

Munir Uwaydah hired a corrupt law firm to file the annulment. The statements provided by Jeannie and her husband to Marisa Schermbeck, providing the legal basis for annulment, were replaced by outright lies to set the stage that Jeannie was an alcoholic and an unfit mother, in preparation for events that would follow.

In June 2007, Munir Uwaydah made arrangements for his mother to visit Jeannie’s mother, to encourage Jeannie to move back to Beverly Hills and live with Munir. During that visit, Munir’s mother disclosed that Munir had fathered a total of 12 children (including Jeannie’s unborn son). In the third week of June 2007, Jeannie’s mother was driving her back to Beverly Hills when Jeannie’s water broke and she was taken to a local hospital to give birth to her son Munir Uwaydah. All of Dr. Munir Uwaydah’s male children are named either Munir or Marwan.

Dr. Uwaydah visited Jeannie and their son in the hospital and while there signed the birth documents as his son’s father. He also promised to return to take Jeannie and their new-born son to their new home in Beverly Hills. But he never returned. During one of his telephone calls Jeannie asked if her mother could take her and the baby to the home in Beverly Hills, and he agreed.

Dr. Munir Uwaydah did not show any interest in spending time with his new son. He did not provide the baby with clothing, food, diapers, a crib, or anything. He did finally return to his 6,000 square foot home in Beverly Hills, four days after the baby was born. Not to comfort Jeannie and spend time with her and their new-born son. His only interest was to force sex upon Jeannie, while she was in bed with their son.

She told him no several times, told him that her doctor had told her she should not have sex for three months after child birth, but he ignored her protests, and told her that he was a doctor too, and knew what he was doing. He then proceeded to have sexual intercourse with her, very forcibly, against her will, despite her protests and her doctor’s advice, tearing and hurting her.

Following that incident, Munir Uwaydah did return to the Beverly Hills home on occasion, but never spent time with Jeannie or their son. Jeannie was left living alone in this Beverly Hills mansion with no money, no transportation, no telephone, no television or radios. She had no way to care for herself or her new-born child. They were totally abandoned by Dr. Munir Marwan Uwaydah.

After several days of begging Munir Uwaydah for financial assistance to take care of their son, he finally provided Jeannie with $2,000, which was the first payment she received after being totally cut off financially when she was 7 ½ months pregnant with his son.

Approximately 11 days after their child was born, Jeannie began experiencing swelling of her face, fingers, hands, ankles, and feet with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. After experiencing these symptoms for 2 days, Jeannie called 911 and was taken to the UCLA Medical Center Hospital. When she first arrived at UCLA she told them that she had just had a child, that she and her boyfriend were in serious disagreement and she felt that her boyfriend had poisoned her to get rid of her, without disclosing that her boyfriend was Dr. Munir Uwaydah.

She specifically asked that the hospital conduct a toxicology test to determine if she had been poisoned, and if so what was used to poison her. She also specifically told the UCLA staff that she did not want to allow any visitors in to see her, specifically Dr. Munir Uwaydah.

The staff of UCLA violated Jeannie’s Patient Rights and allowed Dr. Munir Uwaydah to see her as soon as he found out Jeannie was in the hospital. Dr. Uwaydah instructed the UCLA staff to ignore Jeannie’s request for a toxicology test. He told them that Jeannie was depressed due to post partum depression, had been drinking too much wine and that she should be tested for street drugs instead, which she was, all of which tested negative.  Dr. Munir Uwaydah then took Jeannie out of the hospital and returned her to the Beverly Hills mansion.

As soon as Dr. Uwaydah left Jeannie alone in the Beverly Hills mansion, Jeanie called her mother and asked to be taken back to her family’s home and away from Beverly Hills. Jeannie did not return to Los Angeles or Beverly Hills.

Approximately three weeks after leaving the Beverly Hills mansion, Dr. Uwaydah tracked Jeannie down and insisted on seeing his son. Jeannie agreed and Dr. Uwaydah arrived in his private jet and met with Jeannie, her family and their son, and agreed to begin paying $10,000.00 per month for support of Jeannie and their son. On that occasion he provided her with $6,500 in cash and with a check (drawn on Frontline) for $1,500.00. He also agreed to pay the medical expenses for the birth of their son and to provide health insurance for Jeannie and his son.

About a month later, Dr. Uwaydah flew back in his private jet allegedly to spend time with his son, but only spent 10 minutes speaking with Jeannie’s mother, then left without spending any time with his son, or providing any money for child support.

Over the next few months Dr. Munir Uwaydah placed several calls to Jeannie, offering to resume child support, then told her he wanted out of the situation and offered to pay her a cash settlement of $100,000.00, and asked her to hire an attorney to prepare the paperwork that he agreed to pay for.  She did that, he did nothing.
