Ramirez Family Court Case Trailed Until November 22nd. Investigation Of Tristar/LA County Workers' Comp Department Embezzlement Scam Continues.
By Lonce LaMon - October 26, 2010

Court proceedings took place in Division 50 of the Downtown Los Angeles Criminal Court House at 210 West Temple Street yesterday for the six defendants in the Tristar Risk Management/LA County embezzlement case.

Six individuals, all from the same family, the Ramirez family, were in the court room by almost 10:30 am.  They had all six been arrested and incarcerated in late September 2010.

Sandra Orozco, who ran the shell Private Investigator company, is now out of custody on bail.  Her bail was paid in the amount of $200,000 and she was released from custody on October 14th.  In yesterday’s morning proceedings she stood next to her attorney in front of the table before the judge’s bench.   Her husband, Christian Ramirez, stood with his father, Javier Ramirez, and her brother-in-law, Hugo Ramirez, who were all chained together wearing light lime green jail suits seated on the bench against the wall in the low-walled-off area where all detainees sit during their court sessions.   On a bench in front of the men, closer to the judge’s bench, sat Javier Ramirez’s wife, Maria Ochoa, who is also the mother of Christian and Hugo Ramirez, and Dominique Boudreaux, the wife of Hugo Ramirez.  These two women are still in custody and were wearing very light blue jail outfits.

So, the case was trailed to November 22nd 2010.  As the judge, the Honorable David Horwitz, called out to each defendant to be back here on November 22nd, he or she responded “yes”.

The proceedings would have been infinitely dull as most court proceedings are, except one of the defense attorneys began to go on and on, in response to the judge’s question if he had enough time between now and November 22nd to be ready, that his photocopier had broken down and he had over 10,000 pages of discovery that he couldn’t copy.

Judge Horwitz, irritated that the attorney did not directly answer his question, retorted, “Well that’s just fine, but is that going to be enough time?”   The lawyer said yes, and obviously understood that the judge didn’t want court time taken up with the story of the drama about his photocopier.

Another side amusement occurred when a large blonde woman walked from the main entrance through the aisle of the audience seats and into the attorney and defendant area before the judge’s bench.  She appeared to be a court house employee, however she was very inappropriately dressed for a court room, wearing a maroon colored skirt that was so short in the back it showed the lower inch of her rear end, especially when she bent forward.  The maroon skirt in front nearly touched the front of her knee caps.   She had a huge hole in her panty hose in the back of her left upper thigh area which was about six inches in diameter.  It looked very unflattering not only because it was a large hole but because of the weight she carried in her thighs.

A trio of young contemporary Black women seated on the narrow side audience benches began laughing amongst themselves and had a hard time containing themselves over this unexpected entertainment.  The judge looked over at them, however they quieted themselves without receiving any reprimand.

Samer Hathout, the deputy district attorney prosecuting this case, was wearing all black while stationed at the long table in front of the judge’s bench.

This case continues to involve a continuing and ongoing investigation.  Investigation is intense over the issue of finding and arresting the masterminds and kingpins who planned and put in motion this 1.5 million dollar embezzlement out of the County of Los Angeles’ workers’ compensation claims department administered by Tristar Risk Management in Santa Ana, California.

As previously stated in this article, court proceedings for the Ramirez family will resume on November 22nd 2010.
