| | GAB-Robins Sells Its Third Party Administrator And Managed Care Business, MedInsights, To Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc. By Lonce LaMon - September 29, 2010GAB Robins announced today the sale of its TPA and managed care business to Gallagher Bassett, which is a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
With the sale, Gallagher Bassett will hire more than 400 GAB-Robins' TPA and MedInsights employees. Additionally, Gallagher Bassett will hire many employees at their headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey. Mike Repoli, the CEO of the GAB-Robins TPA Services Division, will move to Gallagher Bassett and lead the transition.
Gallagher Bassett has several claims department offices in California, including San Diego, Laguna Hills, Corona, Calabasas, Rancho Cucamonga, Anaheim, and Sacramento. They handle a large volume of workers' compensation claims for self-insured employers.
GAB-Robins presently has workers' compensation claims offices in Burbank, Ontario and Rancho Cordova.
However, GAB Robins will continue to operate its North American Loss Adjusting Services business. Jim Girard, CEO of the Los Adjusting Services Division, will continue to lead the Division and also will assume additional responsibilities as President of GAB Robins North America.
