Preliminary Hearing For Accused AIG Embezzlers Now Set For November 17th
By Lonce LaMon - November 5, 2009

A new Preliminary Hearing has been set in the embezzlement case by the Orange County District Attorney against Hector Porrata, Cara Cruz-Thompson, George Martinez, and Rene Montes.

The date and time will be November 17th 2009 at 8:30 am.  It will take place at the Central Justice Center, 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, California 92701 in Department C-55.

On October 26th there was a Pretrial Conference which was pretty uneventful.  All that happened was that the new date was set for the preliminary hearing.

This is the third time now that the Preliminary Hearing has been re-set.  It seems, and I can only speculate, that the defense is buying time. At the pretrial conference some of the evidence in the case will be presented.

As of today, November 5th, all of the defendents are still in the Orange County Jail at 550 North Flower Street in Santa Ana, California, being held on one million dollars bail each.

Porrata, Cruz-Thompson, Martinez, and Montes have been accused of collectively embezzling over 1.4 million dollars out of both AIG in Costa Mesa and Matrix Absence Management in the Inland Empire.

This writer will be attending the November 17th Preliminary Hearing and will report back.  For new readers who are not familiar with this case, links to my previous articles are provided, below:
