| | Angela Livingston, Long Time Executive With LWP Claims Solutions, Starts Own Firm By Lonce LaMon - October 6, 2009Angela Livingston resigned last Friday, October 2nd 2009, from her position as Vice President of Claims for LWP Claims Solutions, Inc. in order to start her own firm: Angela Livingston Collaborations, Inc.
As of Monday, October 5th, Angela Livingston Collaborations is open for business--with offices in Sacramento and San Francisco, California, and virtually anywhere in California. Angela is willing to travel to assist her clients in containing and lowering their costs, which is the major focus of her business product.
Angela's clients will be employers, TPAs, Self-Administereds, Insurance Carriers, and Brokers for Workers' Compensation. Her services will include, but not be limited to, Marketing Consultation, Medical Cost Containment, Auditing, Work Flow and Processes Evaluation and also writing Employer Bids, while she can naturally answer employer bids. She has done it all, and now can do it all on a consulting basis for clients.
"In this economy," Angela has observed, "companies don't want to go to the expense of having a full-time salaried person," for all the special projects and needs that come up.
One special need she feels her new prospective clients definitely have, is the need to understand their Medical Cost Containment contracts.
"There are all these employers who are signing contracts for cost containment, and they don't even understand these contracts they're signing. I consider myself a sophisticated buyer, and it's become confusing to me. These contracts are written with these codes and abbreviations and you don't really understand what you're paying for. Then you end up paying a lot of money to the company to reduce your bills."
Thus, Angela as a consultant wants to clarify to her clients what they are getting from their Medical Cost Containment Services. Did they get a good deal? If they didn't get a good deal, she can serve to renegotiate with their current provider, or help them find a new service provider. Overall, she emphasizes that the contract and the service provided should just be clear. Angela wants easy understanding for her clients.
Also, a TPA might decide they want an independent perspective, so Angela can perform audits and reserve evaluations. She can also evaluate work flows and processes, and make changes to streamline them.
Sometimes work flows are dysfunctional and are bogging down production, henceforth, costing the client money. "Sometimes companies are too close to the problem, so it's hard for them to find a solution," Angela explains. So, it's a good solution to get the fresh eye of an outside consultant.
