The Zenith Further 'Right Sizes' Its Woodland Hills, California, Workers' Comp Claims Department By Lonce LaMon - July 28, 2009
Zenith Insurance Company will be closing down its "First Call" unit, aka the Initial Intake Unit in Woodland Hills, California, on July 31, 2009. All claims personnel in that Unit will be laid off. This should roughly let go of between 18 and 21 people.
The First Call Center will be integrated into one of the Zenith's Florida offices, where initial intake is already handled, and all first calls will be routed through one of the Florida claims offices, either in Orlando or Sarasota.
Zenith's objective will be to now "centralize" all first calls to report a claim.
LaDawn Davis, a nurse case manager in the work comp department in Woodland Hills, will also be laid off. However, LaDawn has already secured a new job with Health Net, in the Blue Cross building in the Warner Center in Woodland Hills.
